Life of Kae Yukiwari

As the future heir to the throne, Kae had to behave in a way that suited her royal position. This meant she didn't have many opportunities to make friends and mostly spent time with her younger stepbrother when she was a child.

Kae was particularly fond of her late mother, often joining in on parties organized by the queen. Her mother, supportive of Kae's individuality, urged her to do things in her own unique manner. Kae eagerly anticipated the day when she could host her own party.

During the Kawaki & Himawari Academy Arc, Kae got a break from her princess duties and went to Konohagakure's Ninja Academy. People there quickly noticed her because she was both beautiful and noble. Kae found Kawaki intriguing, even though he was older and a bit distant. When Kawaki tried to be friends, some folks thought he was trying to win her over romantically.

Things got complicated when Eiki Fuma, who had a crush on Kae, thought Kawaki was suspicious and attacked him. However, Kawaki protected Kae from the attack. Curious about Kawaki, Kae asked who he was, but he just wanted to be friends and gave her a romance novel. She later shared with Batora Kuromori how much she enjoyed her time at the Academy.

Kae really wanted to make friends, so she invited her classmates to a tea party. She worked hard, even baking a cake to impress everyone and live up to her mom's memory. During the party, she and Himawari Uzumaki became friends, bonding over having leaders as fathers.

However, when the cake was served, Kawaki thought it was poisoned and caused a fuss. Kae stopped a fight between Kawaki and Eiki and asked why Kawaki did it, but he couldn't say because of his mission. Osuka teased Kae for the party mishap, but Kawaki and Himawari revealed that Osuka was behind a prank with mustard in the cake involving Neon's drone.

Kae scolded Osuka for mistreating her friend. Trying to compose herself, Kae's friends liked her genuine attitude. Following Kawaki's suggestion, the party continued, and Kae enjoyed the taiyaki that Kawaki brought.

When Team 7 became special instructors for her class, there was a task that divided the class. Kae didn't take sides and tried to help everyone get along. When their teacher succeeded, Kae joined in the picnic and cherry blossom viewing party. Some days later, her classmates wanted to explore the Academy's Seven Mysteries at night.

Kae joined them, but secretly, she had Batora create fake mysteries to keep the sense of wonder alive. She convinced Kawaki to help Batora. When one mystery seemed real, Kae felt bad for faking it, but it turned out to be Shino Aburame's insects cleaning the Academy. She was happy her involvement created a new story as part of the Seven Mysteries.

During a practical lesson, Kae, Himawari, and Sosha Amino were in a team, and they chose Kae as the leader. Kawaki was distracted by his mission, even though Himawari took care of Kae for him. Konashi Nerikiri left her a note to meet away from everyone to get her opinion on his sweets, but he ran away when they encountered a flame bear.

With the help of Himawari and a distraction by Hana, they managed to escape. Kae later gave a positive review of Konashi's sweets, and their team had the most points by the end of the day.

When Himawari didn't show up for a shopping trip with Kae, she got worried and went looking for her. After talking to Kawaki and finding Himawari's pendant on the floor, they checked on Osuka, who was last seen with Himawari, and found out they had been kidnapped.

After learning more about Osuka's situation, Neon used a new function in her drone to find them. Kae and Batora took care of Osuka and Himawari while Kawaki dealt with the kidnapper's leader. After their arrest, Osuka's mom, Hibari Kamakura, arrived, hugged Osuka, and invited everyone for pudding.

Later, their class had to perform a play about the Sannin, and Kae played the role of Tsunade. She was shocked by Orochimaru's actions in the play. During a rehearsal, Eiki's struggle with Kawaki caused damage to the stage, and everyone pitched in to fix it.

To rest, Kae decided to sleep in the infirmary, where she was saved from an assassin by Kawaki. After the assassin escaped, Kae woke up, asking what Kawaki was doing. He said it was nothing and walked her home.

On the day of the festival, although Batora couldn't attend, Kae was excited to have fun. Before the play started, there was an explosion and more threats if anyone left or tried to contact the outside. While others disarmed explosive tags, Kawaki had to leave to help Eiki with a circuit.

Smoke bombs went off, and an assassin got close to Kae, but Himawari took her outside. Kawaki stopped the assassin, and Kae realized she was the target all along, figuring out that Kawaki was assigned to guard her.

After the attack, Kae's dad wanted her to come back for safety. She felt sad about leaving her friends and thought Kawaki only talked to her because of his mission. Batora disagreed, saying Kawaki cared more about making her happy than his mission. When the power went out, Batora got hurt protecting Kae from an assassin.

Kawaki went after the assassin while Himawari took care of Kae and Batora. Kae helped bandage Batora's injury. The assassination plot seemed over after authorities arrested the minister, thanks to Batora's investigation. Kae could go back to the Academy.

Later, after Hana got hospitalized from a terrorist attack, Kae and her class welcomed back their teacher. Kawaki and Himawari asked her to hang out, still worried she might be in danger. Kae happily agreed and planned to have Batora make cookies for them. Hana planned for the class to have survival training on a deserted island.

Everyone was excited since it was a chance to make up for the cancelled festival. However, things got tense when their food went missing, and there were rumors of dangerous missing-nin on the island. While the group searched for food, Kawaki kept an eye on Kae. She asked if he was still guarding her, and he admitted it was because he enjoyed being at the Academy. Kae shared that she would soon go back to her country.

As a thank-you to Hana, Kae made a flower arrangement. Later, when the arrangement went missing, Hana asked for Kae's help in finding it. While searching, Kawaki and Himawari arrived and figured out that Hana might be the assassin based on recorded footage from Neon's damaged drone. Hana dropped the act, grabbed Kae, and ran to a bridge, seemingly stabbing Kae to complete her mission.

Hana's actions were a trick. She wanted to meet up with the minister's helper and use her as a hostage to free the minister after his arrest. Kae tried talking to Hana, who explained her plan and threw a kunai near Kae's face as a threat.

Kae used the kunai to cut her restraints when Hana left, but Hana did it on purpose. She tried to hurt Kae to break her spirit, even though she couldn't bring herself to kill Kae. Kawaki and Himawari showed up to help Kae.

As Hana explained her two-sided personality to Kawaki and Himawari, she attacked them using Fire Release. Kae confirmed this based on her past experiences with Hana. While defending herself from Kawaki and Himawari, Hana dropped a kunai with an explosive tag near Kae.

Hana then surrounded them with a paper barrier, but Kae thought it couldn't be kept up for long. Hana mentioned her allies were on their way. Kae managed to breach the barrier briefly with the explosive tag kunai, allowing Himawari to use her Byakugan to keep track of Hana outside the barrier. This helped Kawaki defeat her.

Sai arrived with Batora and the rest of the class, announcing the arrest of Hana's allies. Assassin-Hana tried to harm herself, but her exhaustion from the battle allowed Teacher-Hana to regain control, encouraged by the rest of the class.

Kae wanted to keep the whole situation quiet because she was going back home soon to take over for her sick dad. The class performed the Sannin play, and they said goodbye to Kae at the train station. Kawaki stayed alone on a railing where Kae could see him from the train, happy to know their friendship was genuine.
