Nan is the Leader of the Land of sound, which is a small village destroyed by Orochimaru and his followers. He is the fictional character in the Naruto anime series, created by Masashi Kishimoto, who is the creator of Naruto world.

He used to be the Villager of the Land of Sound, which was the Land of Rice before Orochimaru conquered it and made his village, changing the name of the village. Not only that, he told Daiymo that he would make it well established and powerful village.
Lady Tsunade allows Naruto to go on a mission to find out about Menma's Memory in the Land of Rice with Neji and Tenten. Nan and a few other villagers mistake Naruto, Tenten, Neji, and Menma for members of a band of bandits that have been terrorizing their town when they first arrive in their hamlet.
He instructs the shinobi to hurry and leave if they have no business being there after they have established their identities. Nan tells his sister Ran not to worry about such things since there is no such thing as a nice shinobi and then shows them the sea of graves before telling them to leave the village after she asks them to get rid of the shinobi who are harassing them and their community.
He addressed Naruto and Menma again, saying that he urged them to go while they worked to construct a defensive front for the village. However, they were adamant about aiding the community in any way possible, but they turned it down.
Shiin volunteered to examine the wound Menma had received during the confrontation after being caught spying on the community and Menma. Menma had a tattoo identifying him as a member of the same clan that had terrorized them, and they recognized it.
Neji tends to Menma's wounds after explaining that Menma had lost his memory and that when it came back, they would give him to them in exchange for peace. Menma expresses guilt over not being able to apologize for misjudging him after giving his life to save the town.
Nan is a confident young man who wants to stand for his village no matter who the enemy is and where they are from. He just wants to make peace and rebuild his village again, and that’s why he became the village leader.
He has a sense of feeling and understanding because even though Menma did many crimes which hurt his village and his people, he forgave him when Menma changed into a better person. He even accepted help from Naruto and the team when he saw them helping him to defend his village against Shiin Clan.
He has brown hair with two bangs at the front, which are covered by a bandanna and match his dark eyes. He is dressed simply in a sleeveless shirt, jeans, and sandals.
He uses a crossbow for fighting and has good skills, but he also has a medical skill to aid his villages.
