Not much is known about Ran’s past as she made little to no appearance in the anime. Additionally, Ran is only a part of the Naruto anime, making her a filler, non-canon character in the series.
Ran debuted in the Menma Memory Search Mission, where she was introduced as a villager living in the Land of Rice Fields. In the arc, Ran’s village was swarmed by a small group of bandits. The bandits were plaguing the village and causing misery.
At some point, Ran ran into Naruto Uzumaki, Neji Hyuga, and Tenten, accompanied by Menma, who were on their way for a mission. When Ran realized that they were shinobi, she urged the Konoha genins to help save her village. Unfortunately, the Konoha genin squad had to refuse her request as they were already on a mission and could not act without permission from their village. Later, Nan, Ran’s brother, showed Naruto and others a field filled with graves in an attempt to change their heart. Ran and her brother were delighted when Naruto and Menma agreed to help them save their village.
This is the only incident where Ran appeared, and she hasn’t reappeared since. Due to the lack of information, it is hard to determine whether she is still alive or not. For the time being, Ran is believed to be alive and well until any additional information comes to light suggesting otherwise.
Ran had a minimal role in the series, and the information concerning her personality is unavailable. However, based on her actions, it can be stated that Ran is a very kind person.
Ran is a young woman with fair skin, long brown hair that she keeps in two ponytails, a strand of hair hanging between her eyes, and big purplish eyes. She wears a red, full-sleeved dress underneath an orange piece of clothing, paired with a plain sash and standard sandals.
Ran is a common villager, and based on the information available, she does not possess any remarkable abilities.
