Sagi in Naruto

Very little is known about Sagi as his past is still shrouded in mystery. Sagi was the son of Owashi and the elder twin brother of Toki. Almost nothing is known about his childhood other than the fact that as a child, he was very close to his sister. In his childhood, he would often play with Toki and their friend, Chishima. Additionally, he is only a part of the Naruto anime which makes him a filler, non-canon character in the series.

The Cursed Warrior Extermination arc of Naruto, episode 162, featured Sagi making his debut. In the storyline, it was revealed that Sagi had died a mysterious death at a young age, like his father. After her father and brother had died, Toki tried committing suicide but was saved by Sagi’s ghost. Then, his spirit gave Toki a pocket watch that had stopped. After this, Toki decided to take revenge for her father and brother’s mysterious death and make the watch work again. She disguised herself as Sagi, stating that she had died instead of her brother, and became daimyo to find the one responsible.

Later in the series, it was revealed that Sagi was killed by Moso (Hoki in disguise), the chief advisor to the daimyo. Moso poisoned Sagi to gain power as with Sagi, the heir of the Land of Birds would have died and he would have been the de facto power holder.

Sagi was a kind, cheerful and gentle person. He adored his sister and valued life. Even after his unfortunate demise, he appeared as a spirit to save Naruto and Toki’s life multiple times.

Sagi had black eyes and hair that reached his jawline. He had a heart-shaped face and thin eyebrows. He dressed in a daimyo fashion common in the Land of Birds, consisting of a greenish high-collared garment with red and white trimmings. Over that, he wore a purple, loose shirt with blue trimmings. Additionally, he wore a purple hat.

Sagi was of royal blood. Based on the information available, he never received any formal combat training and thus, he didn’t possess any battle skills.
