Tsuchinoto (Anbu) in Naruto

Very little is known about his childhood as Tsuchinoto’s past is still shrouded in mystery. Tsuchinoto was introduced in the series as a member of Konoha’s Anbu of the Root faction under Danzo, now a former member. Being an Anbu, Tsuchinoto’s real identity is unknown.

Due to his limited appearances in the series, close to nothing is known about his lineage or background. The fact that he is an Anbu and his real identity is kept a secret, is also a major reason behind his mysterious past. Also, he is just a part of the Naruto Shippuden anime and does not appear or receive any mentions in the Naruto series manga, making him a non-canon character in the series.

Tsuchinoto made his debut appearance in Naruto Shippuden episode 351. Danzo sent twelve anbu (including Tsuchinoto) from the Root under his command when the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, was about to be reinstated as Hokage following the untimely death of Minato Namikaze (Fourth Hokage) in the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha.

To help Danzo carry out his plot to replace Hiruzen as the new Hokage, the anbu were sent to assassinate Hiruzen. To classify this assassination as a foreign strike rather than an internal matter, Tsuchinoto and the other Root anbu posed as foreign shinobi. He charged and battled the anbu following Hiruzen, but his target was none other than Kakashi Hatake of the Sharingan, who was escorting Hiruzen in disguise.

Defeating Kakashi proved to be more difficult than expected, and in the end, they failed in their assassination mission. Since Tsuchinoto has not been seen since this incident, it is hard to determine whether he is dead or alive. Unless new information comes to light that suggests otherwise, it is currently believed that he is alive and well.

There isn't much information available regarding Tsuchinoto's personality due to his lack of appearance and relevant information in the series. It is obvious that Tsuchinoto is a mature and responsible adult from his rank.

Given his Anbu status, he is undoubtedly a reliable shinobi who is committed to carrying out his duties and watching out for his village, Konoha’s welfare. Like most of the Root faction, Tsuchinoto is devoted to Danzo and would carry out his commands no matter the cost.

Tsuchinoto's true identity is concealed because he was a member of Root’s Anbu faction. Tsuchinoto has greyish-brown long hair that he keeps tied in a ponytail. He appears dressed in the typical Anbu attire of a grey jacket with matching pants, standard shinobi sandals, and an arm tattoo bearing the Anbu symbol.

His mask has dark green patterns all over it that help him in concealing his identity. His preferred weapon is a sword, which he wears on his back.

Tsuchinoto was never seen unleashing his abilities to the full extent in the Naruto series. Judging from his Anbu status, it is safe to say that he is a remarkable shinobi with formidable strength and extraordinary abilities. He is undoubtedly one of the strongest shinobi Konoha has to offer. He also wields a sword, suggesting that he is quite adept in Kenjutsu, also known as sword techniques.
