Giant Clam in Naruto

This clam was the personal summon of the Second Mizukage. It was capable of creating a deceptive mirage that could completely render people unable to locate itself or its summoner. It appeared during the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Fourth Shinobi World War

During the Fourth Shinobi World War, after Kabuto Yakushi revived the Second Mizukage to fight for Akatsuki, the Giant Clam was summoned to the battlefield to fight against the shinobi of the Fourth Division. As the clam cracked its shell, it enveloped the area in a mirage, rendering all of the shinobi’s attacks ineffective because they were unable to detect it or the Mizukage.

Despite the Mizukage’s suggestion to target the clam directly behind him, their attempts continued to fail, which left the shinobi confused.

Gaara’s Concealed Sand Picture Cat approach was used to locate the real clam once Gaara and Ōnoki arrived. Ōnoki attempted to attack the clam with his Dust Release but was unsuccessful due to his depleting chakra reserves. Ōnoki then attacked the clam with Earth Release: Fist Rock Technique, which did little to no harm to it until he destroyed it with the Earth Release: Ultra-Added-Weight Rock Technique. As a result, the mirage vanished.

Unlike the rest of the summons, this clam appears to lack personality and is fully faithful to its summoner no matter what, even if it means killing Kirigakure shinobi.

Apart from its enormous size, it resembled a regular clam. Several dark lines wrap both the upper and lower portions of its shell, and the Kirigakure emblem is etched on its top.

After first opening its shells and expelling a mist from its siphons, this monster is capable of producing a mist with which its summoner can produce as misleading mirage that entirely renders viewers unable to precisely determine the location of itself and its summoner. Its shell was strong enough to withstand Ōnoki’s initial attack. This creature appears to have a very long life span, considering it was used by Gengetsu when he was still alive and survived until the Fourth Shinobi World War.
