This summon was a large, multi-headed dog with wings, and numerous body piercings as well as the Rinnegan, which hints that it was being controlled by Nagato. It was first summoned during Pain’s battle against Jiraiya.

It was summoned by one of Pain’s Six Paths, which is the Animal Path. Not much is known about where this dog is affiliated from or how the Animal Path summoned it without making any hand signs. After its last appearance in Fourth Shinobi World War, it is presumed to be dead.
It was first summoned in the series during Pain’s fight against Jiraiya. Later, it appeared before Tsurugi and his hunter-nin, whom it attacked when Pain went to retrieve the Six Tails.
It was summoned once more during Pain’s invasion of Konoha, where it battled against Gamaken, Gamabunta and Gamahiro. The toad trio couldn’t stop it from dividing, and it only vanished after Naruto beat the Animal Path.
It reappeared during Fourth Shinobi World War when Nagato and Itachi Uchiha fought against Naruto Uzumaki and Killer B. Later, after Itachi freed himself from Kabuto’s control with a powerful genjutsu and his crow, itachi paralysed the dog using the Amaterasu.
Its fur was completely brown and it wore a large black receiver through its skull. It also had black ring around its mouth, as well as razor-sharp teeth and fangs.
Pain modified it using the Amplification Summoning Technique so that when struck, it could split into individual dogs that can merge back again. Every time it splits in this way, it gains more heads, and each duplicated head carries the black receiver and the Rinnegan just like the original.
The only way to defeat it, according to Nagato, is to defeat its original summoner. This summon was seen with various sizes, ranging from several storeys tall to only tall enough to fit below trees.
This dog was also physically strong and resilient, as it broke through an Anbu Captain’s Earth Release: Sticky Earth Drop Technique, as well as another’s Lightning Release: Sixteen Pillar Bind Technique, and received only minor burns from the Fire Release; Fired Pottery Technique despite having its legs severed by the Wind Release: Wind Cutter Technique.
Even a normally powerful blow, such as the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken, couldn’t easily kill it, as the dog simply modified it. Even when attacked with a technique like Amaterasu, it remained only paralysed and didn’t vanquish until Nagato himself was struck.
