Kanpō first appeared in the Chunin Exams Arc. In the arc, after Neji Hyuga’s match against Naruto Uzumaki in the final round of the Chunin Exam had ended with Neji’s defeat, Kanpō, along with another medical ninja, attended to Neji’s injuries. Later, Hiashi Hyuga entered the room to speak with Neji. Kanpō was surprised by this development and left the room at Hiashi’s request, giving Hiashi and Neji some privacy.
In the Mizuki Tracking Mission Arc, Kanpō informs Lady Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, that the last prisoner had been captured. He also informed her that Shizune had suffered bad injuries, but they had treated her and her life was not in any kind of danger.
Later, in the Konoha Plans Recapture Mission Arc, Kanpō informed Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka about Genno’s status after he bombed himself.
These are the only incidents where Kanpō made an appearance and he hasn’t reappeared since. Due to the lack of information, it is hard to determine whether Kanpō is still alive or not. For the time being, Kanpō is believed to be alive and well until any additional information comes to light suggesting otherwise.
Almost nothing is known about Kanpō's personality or true nature due to his limited appearance in the series and any relevant information. However, based on his limited role, it can be said that Kanpō is dedicated to his work as a medical ninja.
Kanpō is a young man with fair skin, black eyes, and thick eyebrows. He wears the standard outfit of Konoha’s hospital medical ninja, consisting of a white full-sleeve, high-collared jacket, and matching pants. Additionally, he wears a matching white hat covering his head and gear to cover his ears, only leaving his face visible. Additionally, his uniform also has the Medical Corps’ insignia on the left side of his chest.
Although Kanpō is a medical ninja, the true extent of his abilities is still unknown. However, based on his status, it can be deduced that as a medical ninja, Kanpō possesses higher-than-average intellect, combined with excellent chakra control, and is well-versed in medical ninjutsu and medical procedures.
Apart from the Naruto manga and anime, Kanpō is also part of Naruto’s gaming franchise. He made his debut in the gaming category with the release of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Online.
