Shoseki in Naruto

Very little is known about Shoseki as his past is still shrouded in mystery. Shoseki is an anime-only character and does not appear in Naruto manga, making him a non-canon character.

Shoseki made his debut in episode 184 of Naruto Shippuden in the Past Arc: The Locus of Konoha. In the episode, Shoseki was first seen trying to put down a fire in the workshop caused by a failed experiment.

Later, with curiosity, Tenten asks Io about the new ninja tools, and then Shoseki helps Io display their latest work. While showcasing their newest inventions to Konoha shinobi, Naruto Uzumaki, Neji Hyuga, and Tenten, they were interrupted by intruders, Gameru and Kusune.

When the intruders showcased their weapons, Shoseki realized that they were the weapons he sold to them, thinking they were just prototypes. Shoseki apologized for his mistake and stated that he sold those weapons to increase the budget for their experiments.

Once the battle was over between the intruders and Konoha-nin, with Tenten securing the victory, Shoseki took the weapons from them and resealed them, causing Tenten to be disappointed with the development.

Shoseki has not reappeared since this incident. Thus, it would need more time to determine his current status. For the time being, he is presumed to be alive until additional information comes to light suggesting otherwise.

Shoseki is a young kid and is somewhat naive. To increase their budget, he sold two of Io’s weapons, Dako and Tsurukame, to Kusune and Gameru, who later used those weapons against them. He doesn’t understand the importance of hard work and often complains about it.

Shoseki is a young boy with fair skin, dull black hair that he keeps tied up with an orange hairband, and small black eyes with thick eyebrows. He wears red, round glasses, meshed armor under a blue kimono-like shirt, a red, high-collared red jacket paired with a brown sash wrapped around his waist, and a pair of brown pants and sandals. He kept his arms and legs wrapped up in white bandages and wore black gloves.

Shoseki is Io’s apprentice. Though not much is known about his abilities, it is stated that he possesses knowledge of basic Fuinjutsu, also known as sealing jutsu techniques.
