Six Paths Yin Power is a formidable ability possessed by only a very few notable characters in the fan-favorite manga series and its anime adaptation, the Naruto series.

The creation or founding of Six Paths Yin Power is clouded in mystery. That being said, Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths and his brother, Hamura Otsutsuki, were the first two individuals who were seen using Six Paths Yin Release in the Naruto series. According to the records available, Hagoromo and Hamura used Six Paths Yin Release paired with Six Paths Yang Release to seal their mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki, the Mother of All Chakra, using the Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei sealing technique.
Six Paths Yin Power is believed to be the darker side of the Six Paths' prowess. It is also known as Six Paths Power of Shadow. It is represented by a black, crescent-shaped palm seal on the user's left hand. Indicating the dark nature of this power, Hagoromo entrusted this ability to Sasuke Uchiha, who chose and represents the dark path in the Naruto series.
Although not much is known about the abilities that the Six Paths Yin Power provide its user, it is without a doubt one of the most powerful abilities one can possess in the Naruto universe. The exact capabilities of Six Paths Yin Power are not explained and only a few details are available for the fans to refer to. Based on the limited information available, it can be stated that Six Paths Yin Power provides its wielder with the formidable ability of nature transformation. That means that the user of Six Paths Yin Power is capable of advanced chakra control and can mold or define the nature of their chakra itself. It entails that it does not matter what the original chakra affinity of the user is. With Six Paths Yin Release, the user can alter and mold their chakra nature and utilize or modify any technique they wish to with ease. With this, we can say that Six Paths Yin Power is essentially responsible for augmenting its user’s abilities.
Interestingly enough, Black Zetsu observed that there is a unique resonance between the Six Paths Yin and Yang powers, enabling the wielders to feel each other's presence. According to the information available, Six Paths Yin Power is essential to use Six Paths Chibaku Tensei. One of the strongest, if not the strongest sealing jutsu, Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei can only be performed by combining the powers of Six Paths Yin and Yang Release. So far, there are only three known users of Six Paths Yin Power, namely Hagoromo Otsutsuki, Hamura Otsutsuki and Sasuke Uchiha, and interesting enough, all these users used this power to seal Kaguya Otsutsuki using Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei.
