Yurui was born and brought up in Kumogakure and became a Genin rank shinobi. When the Chunin exams were held, he and his teammates Tarui and Toroi participated in the exams.
When Boruto Uzumaki's team was checking out other teams, they spotted the Yurui team, who were very chilled and not nervous about the Chunin exams. Yurui was chewing gum. Shikamaru Nara introduced himself and told them about the Chunin exams and instructed that the first round would begin at noon. Till then the participants could rest or train. Yurui and his teammates went to the Thunder Burger shop to eat burgers, where they spotted Boruto and Sarada Uchiha.
Yurui's team went to Boruto and asked him to go to another table because they were two, while Yurui and his team had three members. Boruto refused and said that his third teammate was coming, but Team Yurui argued that it was his fault for being too slow, which pissed Boruto off and they both started to argue.
When they were about to fight, Mitsuki came and told that he was Boruto's third teammate and that he could go to another table, but Yurui and Boruto kept staring at each other. When they were about to fight, Shinki came in between and held both of them with his Magnet release (Magnet Style) and told them to stop fighting.
Later during the first test, they had to get from point A to point B in an hour, where they would take the quiz for the first round. On route from point A to B, there were several traps that the instructors placed to eliminate and to test the shinobi. Yurui's team was able to reach the B point easily, and on route, they encountered Summoning Puppets, which Tenten used to test them. Yurui was able to use his bubblegum to counter them.
In the quiz round, they had to give a true or false answer by standing on the respective spot, but then both spots had a pit underneath them. Sai said that whoever fell in the Ink pit would be disqualified. Right then, both spots popped out, but Yurui used his Bubblegum technique to keep himself and his teammates afloat and they were able to clear the first stage.
In the second stage of the exams, they had to take the other team's flag, and whoever took the opposite team's flag first would be the winner. Yurui's team was against the old Team 15 of Konohagakure, which had Sumire Kakei, Wasabi Izuno, and Namida Suzumeno led by Hanabi Hyuga. Team Yurui was easily able to beat them and capture their flag.
In the third round, Yurui had a match against Boruto Uzumaki one-on-one. When the match started, Yurui had the upper hand by using exploding Bubblegum which gave Boruto a hard time, but then Boruto used his Ninja tool and used a special shuriken that was able to dodge all the exploding bubbles in the arena and burst the bubbles and because of the explosion, Yurui was knocked out.
Yurui is an arrogant and overconfident guy who doesn't give respect to others. He talked rudely to Boruto and said bad things about Mitsuki, which made him arrogant. He holds grudges and looks down on other opponents. He admires Killer B.
Yurui has slick blonde hair and fair skin, which resembles Killer B. He wears a Gyuki (Eight-Tails) head pendant without a horn on his neck. He wears a Kumogakure shinobi outfit and has a Kumogakure head protector. He also had bandages on both his arms. He always keeps chewing bubblegum.
Yurui is a skilled and strong shinobi who uses Bubblegum Ninjutsu by using chakra as a catalyst to use it for exploding, or sticking and floating. If Boruto had not used the Ninja tool, Yurui probably would be the winner of their fight, which shows his skill. He can also use two Supervibrato Lightning Release Swords that Killer B uses for fighting. The blades are razor sharp, and they can cut down swords or anything with lighting release.
Yurui appeared in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, in the “Road to Boruto” DLC.
