Gozu (Kirigakure) in Naruto

Gozu (Kirigakure) is a Mercenary shinobi who used to work for Zabuza Momochi alongside his twin brother Meizu and he is from Kirigakure (the Village Hidden in the Mist). He is one of the supporting characters in the Naruto anime series and manga that was written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.

Life of Gozu

Gozu appeared in Naruto episode: 6, "A Dangerous Mission! Journey to the Land of Waves!". He was assigned a mission to kill Tazuna, a bridge builder who wanted to build the bridge that connects the Land of Waves to other shinobi villages.

Gozu and his brother tracked Tazuna to the Village Hidden in the Leaves to kill him. When he saw that Tazuna was been protected by Team 7, he planned to kill them and then Tazuna.

Gozu and Meizu used Water Release to hide in a water puddle and when Team 7 with Tazuna walked through it, they attacked Kakashi Hatake first and used their chain technique to cut his body into pieces. However, Kakashi already knew that someone was tracking them and used Wooden Substitution technique to replace himself with a log.

Gozu then attacked Naruto Uzumaki but Sasuke Uchiha blocked the chain technique with kunai and shuriken. Gozu released his chains from his claw machine and then tried to attack Tazuna, but Kakashi defeated them and left them tied to a tree.

Gozu’s Personality

Gozu is brave and fearless but he is also a cold-hearted assassin who can kill anyone without thought or emotion. He is also overconfident, just like his brother and follows his leader Zabuza’s orders.

Gozu’s Appearance

Gozu wears a camouflage jumpsuit and, over that, wears a dark, rugged black cape. He wears a posion mask and on his right-hand wears a mechanical claw. He wears brown sandals and carries a tool pocket bag around his waist. He has medium black hair and fair skin, and also has a Kirigakure head badge which has one horn molded in the middle.

Gozu’s Abilities

Gozu is skilled shinobi and is quick on his feet. He has great coordination with his brother and he also can release posion from his mechanical claws in his right hand. He can use Water Release to hide himself and is a chunin-rank shinobi who can use basic techniques.
