Kisame Hoshigaki

When Kisame was part of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, he was a guard for the Cypher Division. When they were attacked by Konoha shinobis under Ibiki, Kisame killed everyone in the Cypher Division so that the intel cannot be obtained by Konoha.

When he got to know that his senior was leaking information to the other villages, Kisame killed him and took his sword Samehada for himself. Even though he was praised for his loyalty to Kiri, Kisame came under the impression that the world is only filled with liars.

After that, Kisame was approached by the person who was manipulating Yagura and claiming that he was Madara Uchiha. After he saw the figure’s Sharingan, Kisame told the person to reveal himself to which he agreed. After explaining his objective and the whole Eye of the Moon Plan to Kisame, he was at first quite skeptical about the plan but then agreed to help him.

Kisame became known as the Monster of the Mist and formed a connection with Suigetsu and Mangetsu Hozuki. When he left Kirigakure he took Samehada with him, which led Kirigakure to lose one of its Seven Swords. Kisame eventually joined the Akatsuki and due to him killing people close to him, he was paired with Itachi.

At first, they both were quite hostile to each other but they soon became good partners they went together to recruit Deidara for the Akatsuki together and managed to get him when he lost his battle with Itachi.

In his battle against Might Guy, Guy fought Kisame with the help of his Six Gates Chakra and plummeted Kisame to his death. After fighting Kisame, his body changed, and it turned out to be another person. They realized that it was a copy and that the Akatsuki had done this to buy time to extract Shukaku from Gaara's body.

Kisame loved to fight and he was quite sadistic and never hesitated to mutilate his enemies, which was seen when he suggested cutting Naruto’s legs in order to carry him more easily than letting him escape. Even though he gets angry easily, he is quite perceptive and has a keen mind during battle.

He is able to deduce the basics of an enemy's attack and react in time for any potential incoming danger. When he was paired with Itachi, he couldn't start fights with him as Itachi didn't enjoy fighting a lot like Kisame. He also hates Might Guy from the first time they ever crossed paths and Guy's inability to remember Kisame before he died angers him more.

Kisame is one of the few Akatsuki members who gets along well with his teammates even though they have different personalities. The one similarly they share is that both of them were betrayed by someone who was close to them. Their teamwork is so good that itachi is able to compensate for all the shortcomings and weaknesses that Kisame has. He is quite loyal to Itachi and only would take orders when it is given or allowed by Itachi.

Kisame acknowledged Itachi as more stronger and intelligent than him. Kisame was quite saddened when he heard about Itachi’s death. He considered itachi a good friend and even thought of him during his last moments. His loyalty was so great that Zetsu thought that he only stayed in the Akatsuki because of Itachi and wondered if he would now leave as Itachi was no longer alive.

During his last moments he remembered what Itachi said that no one ever truly knows their real self just before they die and Kisame hoped that Itachi was also successful in realising who he truly was before he passed away.

Kisame was quite interested in the Eye of the Moon Plan because of the disillusioned world he lived in. He felt that he never had his own place to go to or who he truly was because he was often ordered to undertake gruesome missions like killing his own comrades for the sake of protecting the mission.

This caused him to develop guilt which he carried to his deathbed and believed that he was a worthless and terrible person. Due to this incident, he always warned people he worked with that he might have to kill them one day. When his most trusted person betrayed him, he came to the conclusion that his whole life was a lie.

Kisame had a playful and morbid sense of humor. He used to laugh at serious situations with a sadistic grin. This would even show up during fights and he would mock his enemies. When he heard about Hidan's and Kakuzu's death he referred to them as the 'Zombie Brothers.'

Despite this, Kisame is also seen to be Hume and honest with close people, like Itachi. He is also very appreciative of things like when Tobi used to liven up the Akatsuki meetings with his upbeat nature.

Kisame was very tall and muscular, in fact, he was the tallest member of the Akatsuki. His features distinctively resembled a shark and this is due to his pale green/ blue grey skin. He had small, round, white eyes, three sets of curved facial markings under his eyes, and gills on his shoulders. He also had sharp triangular teeth, which is a shared trait amongst the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. He styled his hair in the form of a Shark fin. As a member of the Akatsuki, he also wore dark purple nail polish with the standard Akatsuki cloak.

During his as a Kirigakure Ninja, he wore the standard attire with the flak jacket and forehead protector. Later on, he wore the standard attire of the Seven Swordsmen which consists of a dark sleeveless shirt with matching pants which has a waist guard. He also wears leg warmers which are the typical garments of his village.

He also started wearing a modified version of his forehead protector which covered his ears as well. He wore the typical Akatsuki cloak and underneath it he was bare-chested. He also wore a brown sash across the front and back of his cloak to hold Samehada in place. He wears his Akatsuki ring on his left ring finger, which has 'south' written on it and is yellow in color.

Kisame was an extremely powerful shinobi who earned his way into the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist and later the Akatsuki. He killed his former master who was a member of the Seven Swordsmen's strongest generation and the man wielded Samehada which later on Kisame possessed. He is deemed the best member of the Akatsuki to capture their targets alive when he captured the Four-Tails with little effort.

He was also able to overwhelm B also and had nearly captured him at full strength and he could battle an entire elite team too. Kisame possessed massive chakra reserves. His superhuman chakra level and combining it with Samehada gave him the ‘Tailess Tailed Beast’. He can even absorb chakra.

He has immense physical strength and speed. He is also quite skilled in Taijutsu and he even survived B’s Lightning Release: Lariat as well as Guy’s Daytime Tiger.

He also possessed immense physical strength and speed, combining stronger taijutsu strikes with powerful slashes woth Samehada. He was able to survive Killer B's Lightning Release Lariat as well as Guy's Daytime Tiger. He was even strong enough to break through Yamato's chakra suppressing wood restraints, which showed his raw strength and endurance.

He is quite a strong swordsman and only uses his brute strength in battle. Even with a normal katana, he was able to kill all his comrades. Kisame can easily heal from injuries and replenish his chakra by fusing it with Samehada. When he fully infuses his chakra with Samehada he starts having shark-like features. In this form, he can sense people’s chakra and absorb it just by touching them.

Kisame has mastered Water Release and can alter the whole battleground with large volumes of water. He can shape his Water Release attacks into sharks. He can even increase his field advantage if he’s fighting on water. He can even use Fire and Wind Release.

Water Prison Shark Technique

Kisame can form a giant prison with the help of water. As he is the center of the dome, he can alter its position and can reflect it in the direction of his movements. As long he pursues his target, they wouldn't be able to escape. If he fuses with Samehada, it grants him to breathe underwater while his enemy is drowning.

Water Release: A Thousand Feeding Sharks

The user can create one thousand sharks out of the water which replicate a giant wave to swarm down the opponent. They appear as summoned sharks.

Water Prison Technique

This technique traps a target in a sphere of water. It can be drawn from the surroundings or the users’ mouths. It is so heavy that it restricts the movement of the target and can cause problems with breathing. The person cannot escape very easily.

To maintain the prison the user must stay in contact with the sphere and keep an arm submerged in it. It can also be used to store scrolls and trap anyone who tries to steal it.
