Very little is known about his early years, as Stone Carver’s past is still shrouded in mystery. Stone Carver has a very brief visual appearance in the anime, so much so that even his name is unknown. Based on the information at hand, he was a mason who was responsible for carving the Hokage faces on the Hokage Rock.
Additionally, Stone Carver does not make any appearances in the Naruto manga or any other publications, making him a non-canon, anime-only character in the series.
Stone Carver made his debut in Five Kage Summit Arc. In this arc, he was appointed to carve the face of Danzo Shimura, the candidate for the position of the Sixth Hokage, on the Hokage Rock.
When he was about to start carving Danzo’s face, his assistant informed him that Danzo had been killed. It infuriated him as it meant that all the hard work he did to prepare for this was wasted.
Later, Kakashi Hatake was appointed to assume the position of Sixth Hokage. Stone Carver then took Kakashi with him to take his measurements and create a mold by applying thin layers of plaster on Kakashi to make the necessary arrangements to carve Kakashi’s face on the rock.
While preparing the mold, he asked Kakashi to remove his mask as he needed the measurements of his face and stated that his face would not look good on the rock with a mask on. Later, as the Stone Carver was preparing to start carving Kakashi’s face on the Hokage Rock, his assistant once again stopped him.
He then told him that Kakashi was no longer the Hokage as Tsunade Senju, the Fifth Hokage, had regained conscience and was ready to resume her position.
He is overly dedicated to his work and strives to create stone carvings to utter perfection. He goes to great lengths to make a perfect stone carving, a perfect replica of his subjects. He even dreams about his works. He was also seen as frustrated when he heard the news about Danzo’s demise and that Kakashi was no longer the Hokage, as all the hard work he did was wasted.
He is a middle-aged man with a large, bushy mustache and short, cropped black hair that forms sideburns and leads to a very short beard. On his forehead, he wears a little headband that is made of twisted, white rope-like cloth.
He also has a beige cloth wrapped around his neck. He wears a black shirt underneath a bluish kimono-like dress with ride lines running along its sleeves, paired with black pants and sandals.
