Takamaru in Naruto

Takamaru is a messenger hawk for Sunagakure. In Naruto Shippuden episode 7, during the Kazekage Rescue Mission Arc, Takamaru made his on-screen debut. In this arc, Takamaru appeared while delivering a message to Konohagakure (Village Hidden in the Leaves). The message stated that Gaara had been kidnapped by Akatsuki members. He was last seen flying above Konohagakure after Team Kakashi, composed of Kakashi Hatake, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sakura Haruno, had returned after rescuing Gaara.

Takamaru hasn’t appeared since. Due to his lack of appearance, it is close to impossible to determine his status. For the time being, Takamaru is believed to be alive and well until further information comes to light suggesting otherwise.

However, in the episode Assemble! Allied Shinobi Forces, a bird with the same description and trait is spotted carrying fresh intel from the Leaf village. The stone ninjas call it 'One of Leaf's' but it is post alliance formation.

Takamaru is a hawk so he did not showcase any personality traits. However, as a messenger hawk, he is very reliable.

Takamaru has a typical hawk appearance, complete with brown feathers and brown eyes. His legs are a dull yellow, while the underside of his wings is beige. He is seen with a strap over his neck holding a grey message bag on his back.

It is stated that Takamaru is Sungagakure’s fastest messenger bird. The only other Sunagakure messenger bird capable of rivaling Takamaru is his son, Tobimaru.
