Naruto Uzumaki is the protagonist of the fan-favorite manga and its anime adaptation Naruto, and its sequels. He is a shinobi and the Seventh Hokage of the Village Hidden in the Leaves in the series. In his journey to become the Hokage of the Leaf Village, Naruto has had many individuals who taught him at different stages of his life.

Iruka is a shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Village. Although he started his journey in the series as an instructor at the Ninja Academy, he became the academy's headmaster near the end of Naruto Shippuden. He played a significant role in Naruto’s life. If it were not for him, Naruto might have gone on a different and lonelier path. Iruka lost both his parents in the Nine-Tails attack on the village. He felt lonely and used to perform pranks to gain the attention of others.
When he noticed the same behavior in Naruto, he began caring for him and started to think of him as his younger brother. Naruto always looked up to him as his mentor. Naruto even asked him to play the role of his father in his wedding ceremony.
When Naruto graduated from the Ninja Academy, he was assigned to Team 7 under the captainship of Kakashi Hatake. Kakashi introduced Naruto to the life of a shinobi. Kakashi played a major role in shaping Naruto as a shinobi. He taught Naruto that ‘In the Ninja world, those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum’, something he learned from his friend, Obito Uchiha. Kakashi also trained Naruto and helped him to add his Chakra Nature to his Rasengan which led him to develop Wind Style: Rasenshuriken.
After the Fourth Great Ninja War ended, Kakashi was appointed as the Sixth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. It is believed that Kakashi extended the duration of his service as the Sixth Hokage to give Naruto a chance to live his life. When Kakashi felt that Naruto was the right age, he stepped down and Naruto was appointed as the Seventh Hokage.
Jiraiya was one of the Three Legendary Sannin of the Hidden Leaf. He was Naruto’s master. Jiraiya taught Naruto one of his signature jutsu, the Rasengan, and many other techniques. He also helped Naruto to control his anger and harness Nine-Tails' prowess for himself, on their journeys together. At the end of the original Naruto series, Jiraiya and Naruto set out on a journey to train Naruto, to make him strong enough to face the Akatsuki and get his friend Sasuke back.
Naruto was the son of his former student, Minato Namikaze, and his godson. He always thought of him as his grandson. Naruto always looked up to him and saw him as a part of his family. When Jiraiya fought Six Paths of Pain and lost, he encoded a message with Pain’s secret for Naruto. He believed that Naruto is the Child of Prophecy and that he would be the one to bring peace to the shinobi world.
