Hiruga’s Background

Hiruga is an anime-exclusive character with little information. However, it is stated that Hiruga and his brothers (Asaka, Yoruga, and Yuga) were orphans who sought refuge in the Land of Haze's orphanage. People enjoyed eating well despite the fact that it was a small, impoverished country. They would also frequently play under a large peach tree.

In the Kara Actuation Arc, Hiruga made his screen debut. It was revealed in the arc that Hiruga and his brothers were sent from the Land of Haze on a mission to find the cells of Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage of Konohagakure (Village Hidden in the Leaves).

They learned that the Hashirama Cells were somehow smuggled to the Land of Silence's black market. Hiruga and his brothers attempted to lure Kirisaki, a rogue shinobi of Kirigakure (Village Hidden in the Mist), into revealing the location of the cells by disguising themselves as women.

But when Boruto Uzumaki, a member of Konoha's Team 7 genin squad and the anime's main character, arrived, he ruined their plans by using his Oiroke no Jutsu (Sexy Jutsu) to assume the appearance of a beautiful woman. Kirisaki was mesmerized by Boruto's disguise and shifted his attention to him instead.

Hiruga and his brothers then witnessed Boruto and his comrades taking Kirisaki, who was unconscious. Hiruga and his brothers pursued them in order to discover that Sakuya, a noblewoman from the Land of Silence, was in possession of the Hashirama cells and began making plans to recover it from her. They did, however, learn that the castle Sakuya was residing in was fortified by a barrier that kept outsiders out.

Yoruga soon came to the conclusion that in order for their plan to work, they would have to make a sacrifice. Then Yoruga gave Asaka his earring, knowing that he would give his life to complete their mission. Yoruga asked Asaka and Hiruga to make an oath that they would hang his earring by the peach tree in their home nation (the Land of Haze) before he left.

Asaka, Hiruga, and Yuga were able to breach the barrier ninjutsu surrounding the castle and enter it as a result of Yoruga's selfless sacrifice. The three brothers then tracked down Sakuya, killed her, and took the Hashirama Cells she was holding.

When Boruto arrived on the scene, they took advantage of this development and framed him for the murder of Sakuya and her butler by informing the castle guards of the transgression and blaming Boruto for it.

Then, using the uproar as a diversion, they made their getaway. The three siblings mourned Yoruga's passing after leaving the village and being safe from any immediate danger.

Asaka quickly came to the conclusion that they were being pursued as they fled back to their nation. Yuga volunteered and stayed behind to stall their pursuers in order to ensure the success of their mission. Yuga gave Asaka his earring as they separated.

To their dismay, Yuga's sacrifice later failed to halt their pursuers. After that, Hiruga offered to help and stayed behind as Asaka made a break for it. Hiruga gave Asaka his earring, like Yoruga and Yuga before him, and then withdrew to stall the Konohagakure shinobi squad.

Hiruga confronted Boruto and the other Konoha shinobi to buy his brother some time. He used a Kenjutsu (Forbidden Jutsu), known as Haze Ninja Art: Forbidden Technique: Hellish Obliteration, as he battled Boruto and others. Haze Ninja Art: Forbidden Technique: Hellish Obliteration is a forbidden technique that enables the user to create an area around them that is covered in a tar-like sludge that will cause anyone who gets stuck in it to sink to their death.

The use of this powerful technique, however, results in the death of its user. Hiruga's willingness to give his life without hesitation in order to buy his brother a little more time shocked Boruto. This infuriated Hiruga, and he burst out in anger.

He then proceeded to tell Boruto that he has no idea of the real world and he knows nothing about what it is like to grow up and suffer in a harsh environment. He stated that he will do whatever it took to guide his land into prosperity. Inspired by his deeds, Boruto became determined to save Hiruga's life and began to approach him to cancel his jutsu, which caused him to sink even faster.

Hiruga was taken aback by Boruto's deed of generosity. Omoi, a close aide to the Fifth Raikage Darui, unexpectedly showed up on the scene. Omoi claimed that another enemy force that is after the Hashirama Cells is currently en route to the Land of Haze and had wiped out his allies. Hiruga cancelled the jutsu after becoming aware that Asaka's life might be in danger. He then sprinted after his brother.

Later, Hiruga reunited with Asaka. Asaka was surprised to see his brother as he believed that he had sacrificed himself for the sake of the mission. Asaka came to the conclusion that an enemy had disguised himself as Hiruga to trick him. It infuriated him as it tarnished the memory of his brother and his noble sacrifice.

Asaka then proceeded to attack him; however, before he could land a hit, Boruto came to the scene and stopped him, convincing him that is, in fact, Higura, his brother. Boruto informed Asaka of the recent developments and how Hiruga changed his course when he became aware of an approaching danger pursuing Asaka.

Hiruga was disappointed that he had been unable to stop the Hidden Leaf shinobi squad, but Asaka was glad to hear that his last surviving sibling was still alive. Hiruga and his brother, putting aside their differing objectives, decided to work with the Hidden Leaf shinobi.

Deepa, an inner member of Kara, arrived at the scene and attacked Hiruga and his brother. Hiruga died on the spot due to Deepa's brutal attack.

Hiruga’s Personality

Hiruga was a moral person while being a capable and powerful shinobi. He would give his life willingly and without hesitation for the benefit of his brothers and his country, just like his brothers would. Hiruga had a strong character and was willing to give anything to accomplish his goal. He did, however, occasionally find himself torn between his love for his family and his loyalty to his land and mission.

Hiruga's childhood struggles shaped him into the person he was. He was able to treasure and share any joy he discovered with his brothers as a result of his difficult and cruel upbringing.

Hiruga was a reasonable and logical man, capable of making harsh choices in the midst of the battle. However, he showed resentment towards people like Boruto Uzumaki, who had an easy life and did not face the harsh condition he and his brothers faced. He thought of people with an easy life as spoiled.

Hiruga loved his brothers and cared for them deeply. When he realized that Asaka’s life was in danger, he abandoned his mission and reunited with his brother to warn him of the threat.

Hiruga’s Appearance

Hiruga was a young man with a fair skin tone, dark eyes, and long, purplish hair that covered his back. He kept his hair tied with a band on his back and kept a very small ponytail on the right side of his head. He wore a blue earring on his right ear.

He wore a green, sleeveless robe with beige trimmings, a white shirt underneath, and a purple band wrapped around his waist. He wore a light, tannish green hood paired with dark pants and a pair of sandals. He also kept his hands wrapped in white bandages. He also carried a tanto tied on his hip.

Hiruga’s Abilities

Hiruga was a skilled shinobi of the Land of Haze, training in their combat abilities and jutsus. Hiruga possessed an affinity for Water Release and excelled in using Water Clone Jutsu. He also carried a tanto, a small sword, with him, which indicates the possibility that he was trained in Kenjutsu, sword fighting techniques.

Like his brothers, he was also trained in the Kinjutsus of the Land of Haze. He excelled in Haze Ninja Art: Forbidden Technique: Hellish Obliteration, which allows the user to summon a tar-like sludge all around them; anyone who gets stuck in it will sink to their death.

Interestingly enough, if a target moves closer to the user while trapped in the sludge, he starts quickly sinking as they get close to the user. The user can also create tendrils to defend himself and attack enemies. This technique is formidable; however, it costs the user their life.
