Ryusa in Naruto

Very little is known about his upbringing as Ryusa’s past is still shrouded in mystery. Due to his limited appearances in the series, little is known about his lineage or background other than the fact that he is a senior ninja from the Hidden Sand Village and a member of the Hidden Sand Council.

Ryusa first appeared in the Kazekage Rescue Mission Arc. He was first seen with the other members of the council after Gaara, the Fifth Kazekage, was abducted by two members of Akatsuki, Deidara, and Sasori of the Red Sand.

In this scene, the council members were planning their plan of action. Ryusa was among the few council members who were against the idea of electing a new Kazekage.

Later, Ryusa appeared in the Five Kage Summit Arc. In this arc, Ryusa was seen, alongside other shinobi of Sunagakure, seeing the Sand Siblings (Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro) off on their journey to the Land of Iron. Before they left, Ryusa told Temari and Kankuro that they must keep Gaara safe and that they are counting on them for his safety.

Ryusa has not appeared since these appearances; thus, his absence makes it impossible to say whether he is dead or alive. He is currently assumed to be alive and well unless any information indicates otherwise.

Due to his lack of appearance in the series and any related information, almost nothing is known about Ryusa’s personality. From his status and limited appearance, it can be deduced that Ryusa is loyal and dedicated to the welfare of Sunagakure. He is also calm and rational. He always acts based on the information and what is best for his village.

Ryusa is a middle-aged man who has thick eyebrows, dark eyes, and a strong jawline. His hair is not visible on account of his outfit. He sports what appears to be the standard outfit for a council member in the Village Hidden in the Sand- a grey shirt underneath a cream-colored poncho-like piece of clothing that he wears along with a white ghutrah, combined with traditional shinobi sandals.

Based on his status, Ryusa is surely an extremely talented shinobi but so far, information regarding his combat capabilities is not available. However, as he is a member of the Sunagakure Council, he is surely one of the wisest shinobi of Sunagakure.
