He and his group attacked Team Minato during the Third Great Shinobi War after they had infiltrated the Iwagakure. Once he congratulated Kakashi on his skills, he then attacked him and Rin. He made the landscape that had killed Obito Uchiha and Sumashi died when Minato had successfully teleported his team to safety.
