Jirocho Wasabi’s Background

Jirocho once was attacked by Idate Morino who wanted to have money to eat when he was very young, but Jirocho was able to counter him with his umbrella and then gave him an apple to eat. He asked him if he had anyone, which Idate denied, and then Jirocho took him to his family.

Jirocho Wasabi first appeared in Naruto episode: 97, "Kidnapped! Naruto's Hot Spring Adventure!." Jirocho Wasabi was having drinks together with Tsunade when she, alongside Naruto Uzumaki, Jiraya and Shizune, went back to Konoha Village after making Tsunade agree to take Hokage’s position.

Senta and Bunzo were tracking down Tsunade because she took a loan from the Wasabi Family. Jirocho told Bunzo and Senta that she had already paid the loan and he received the letter.

The Wagarashi Family head Kyuroku Wagarashi wanted to take control over Dagarashi Port in the Land of Tea and because of that, he suggested doing the Todoroki Race. Whoever wins the race will take control of the town.

Jirocho asked Tsunade to send some shinobi to protect Idate Morino, who is the one running for the Wasabi family side in the Todoroki Shrine Race because Jirocho, his family member, was attacked by the ninja that the Wagarashi family hired.

Tsunade sent Naruto, Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha to the Land of Tea to protect Idate Morino. At the start of the Race, Idate chose another path, which no one knew, and that made other Wasabi family members believe that he betrayed them, but Jirocho had faith in him.

In the end, when Idate appeared at the finish line, Jirocho told his family members that he always had faith in Idate, who won the race.

Kyuroku tried to put false allegations on Idate and the Wasabi family that it was prohibited to use any other person to help in the race, and showed him a picture in which Naruto was carrying Idate. But then, the Land of Tea Daimyo showed a picture of Kyuroku giving a bribe to the evil minister of the Tea Daimyo.

Jirocho thanked Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke for their help and saw them off at the port.
