Monga in Naruto

Very little is known about Monga as his past is still shrouded in mystery. Monga was introduced as an Iwagakure ninja and a Third Division of the Allied Shinobi Forces member in the series.

Monga debuted in the anime in the Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation Arc. During the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Monga was assigned to be a part of the Third Division of the Allied Shinobi War, led by Kakashi Hatake of Konohagakure. Most of the Third Division separated into small units when the reincarnated shinobi appeared on the battlefield. After separation from the rest of the division, Monga led a small squad consisting of Ruka and Maki. Soon after, Gari, a renowned Iwagakure shinobi and a former member of Iwagakure’s Explosion Corps, appears before the squad on the battlefield. Monga never thought that he would face Gari, his former comrade, again in his lifetime. Monga chatted with Gari and was disappointed when he learned that Gari was okay with being controlled like this. Monga engaged Gari and, after a bit of struggle, managed to blow him into bits by pushing a mud wall where he placed many explosive tags.

Monga then instructs Ruka and the others to seal Gari quickly. However, he is caught off guard, and Pakura, a Sunagakure (Hidden Sand Village) kunoichi, uses a sneak attack to mummify Monga.

Monga had a rough guy demeanor. However, he was a great leader. In tense times, he remained quite composed. Despite his rough guy attitude, he cared deeply for his comrades. He was also extremely fearless and confident in his abilities as a shinobi and a leader, as evidenced by his decision to fight Gari alone and his earlier claim that no one would lay a finger on his comrades as long as he was there.

Monga was a middle-aged man with quite a big and muscular physique, with a fair skin tone, short brown hair, and small black eyes. He also had fang-shaped markings underneath his eyes. He was dressed in the attire of an Iwagakure shinobi, consisting of a red shirt with a left sleeve, lapel, and a brown vest on it, paired with a matching pair of pants and standard sandals. He also wore the Allied Shinobi Force forehead protector like a bandana, covering most of his hair.

Monga was a skilled shinobi of Iwagakure with excellent leadership skills. He was able to take down Gari, a fearsome enemy, in a matter of mere seconds. He possessed the Earth Release chakra nature and excelled in Earth Release: Earth and Stone Bamboo Shoot and Earth Release: Mud Wall.

Monga possessed impressive intellect. He was able to use his Earth Release techniques innovatively with great strategic abilities, as evidenced by his use of explosive tags with a mud wall. He was also extremely powerful, capable of shattering rocks with a single punch.
