Yakku is a genin rank shinobi from Sunagakure (The Village Hidden in the Sand). He was waiting for Temari and Team 7 at the entrance of Sunagakure, who were sent by Tsunade for the Kazekage (Gaara) rescue mission.

When Akatsuki members Sasori and Deidara caught Gaara (The Fifth Kazekage) for his One Tailed Beast power, Kankuro followed the Akatsuki members to save Gaara but failed to do so. Sasori poisoned Kankuro, which led him to be in the Sunagakure hospital. Yakku and his teammate were told to wait for Temari and Team 7 of Konoha village, consisting of Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno, led by Kakashi Hatake, to go on a Kazekage rescue mission.
When Temari and Team 7 reached the entrance of Sunagakure, Yakku told them about the situation and led them to Sunagakure hospital, where Kankuro was admitted.
He wears a black bandana and a head protector over it. An olive sleeveless jacket, and underneath that, a long sleeve t-shirt. He has brown hair and wears an armed guard.
