History of Sky Ocean

After sailing through the knock up stream, the Straw Hat Pirates landed on the Sky Ocean before making their way towards Skypiea. They also met Gan Fall, who further guided them towards the location of Skypiea.

General information on Sky Ocean

Sea Clouds and Island Clouds are formed when a component of the seastone known as “pyrobloin” is thrown into the air by volcanic eruptions which interact with water vapor. The formation of an island cloud or a sea cloud depends on the water vapor’s density. Normally, neither of these kinds could survive on the Blue Sea.

Sea clouds are so similar to water that one can practically sail on them because they are less dense than water. Objects placed into them will sink rather quickly. There is no sea floor, which is another distinction between sea clouds and seawater. They still have the same impact on Devil Fruit users as a regular body of water would. The White Sea and the White White Sea are the two seas formed by these clouds.

These clouds are home to mystical creatures. They evolved their bodies to shed density in order to adjust to a buoyant force that is weaker than that of regular water; some grew flat or took on a balloon-like anatomy.

The Imperial Cumulus, a long-lived and extraordinarily dense mass of clouds, is where the majority of the sea clouds have been observed in the series thus far.

Locations at Sky Ocean

The White Sea and the White White Sea are the two seas formed by these clouds. Here’s some more information about the two of them.

White Sea

This is the bottom portion of the sky ocean and it is located 7000 meters above the Blue Sea. It is made up of Sea Cloud. It features odd stretchy clouds that may be used as trampolines by some people.

From the Blue Sea, there are multiple routes that lead to the White Sea. The only route that has been shown so far is the unusual and risky one that requires the sailors to take a Knock Up Stream. The High West and island hopping are two alternate ways indicated by Gan Fall. Each of these routes carries their own risk.

Following are the known locations at the White Sea:

Heaven’s Gate

The Heaven’s Gate is the gateway to Skypiea, which is located in the White Sea. It was destroyed during Enel’s attack.

Cloud End

The Blue Sea and the White Sea are connected by a point called Cloud End, which is also known as the Limit of the Cloud.

White White Sea

The upper portion of the sky ocean is known as the White-White Sea. It is situated 10,000 meters above the Blue Sea. This is where Skypiea is located among other sky islands.
