Who are the 7 Warlords of the Sea?

All about Crocodile

We get to the fact that Crocodile is already a Warlord (Shichibukai) of the sea at the start of the series. After joining the Warlords, he settled in Alabasta and founded Baroque Works in order to rule Alabasta under him. He has the Suna Suna devil fruit which gives him the ability to turn himself or control sand. He made a drought happen in Alabasta and framed the King in order to start a rebellion. Crocodile had planned to save the people of Alabasta and act as their savior, so that they name him the new king but that didn't happen as the Straw Hats intervened in their plans. After the whole Alabasta incident, the World Government saw what Crocodile had done and immediately revoked and he was put into prison.

All about Boa Hancock

Boa Hancock was sold as a slave when she was just a child and was forced to eat the Mero Mero devil fruit which gave her the power over Impure hearts. As she had quite overwhelming strength and even the conqueror haki, Hancock soon became the captain of the Kuja Pirates. To ensure her land Amazon Lily's safety, she became a Warlord, despite hating on the government for treating her badly when she was a slave. Hancock stayed a Warlord till the World Government decided to disband the Shichibukai.

All about Jinbe

Just like Boa Hancock, Jinbe also became a Warlord to protect the people of Fishman Island as they weren't treated well and suffered injustice. He continued on with his mentor's legacy and morals. When he was invited to be a Warlord he agreed so that he could use the power to improve the relationship between humans and fishermen. But that relationship didn't go well when the Warlords were told to fight in the Marineford war and go against Whitebeard. As he did not agree to this, Jinbe was imprisoned and was expelled from being a Warlord.

All about Gecko Moria

Gecko Moria is the antagonist that was introduced during the Thriller Bark arc. He possesses the power of the Kage Kage fruit which gives him the power to steal shadows and corpses of people and he used them to create hybrid zombies and add them to his crew. When the World Government got to know about his island ship crew and his experiments, they started to take action. Moria wasn't revoked of his title instead the World Government ordered his silent assassination to take place string the Marineford war. Moria escaped and is currently known to be associating with Blackbeard.

All about Dracule Mihawk

Dracule Mihawk is the mysterious swordsman that appeared in the start of the series. He is known as the world's best swordsman. The World Government was very impressed by Dracule's skills with the sword so much that they offered him to be a Warlord. He takes care of all the Warlord's duties without a complaint and even took part in the Marineford war even though he didn't agree with its reasoning.Even though he is loyal to the World Government, Mihawk does as he pleases and even personally trains Roronoa Zoro.

All about Bartholomew Kuma

Bartholomew Kuma is actually a part of the Revolutionary Army and he became a Warlord and acted as their spy. While working for the World Government, he always used to send information regarding them to the Revolutionary Army. He was even transformed into a cyborg by them by Dr. Vegapunk. And after transforming him into a cyborg, those blueprints were used to create an army of Pacifistas. Kuma eventually became a slave to the Celestial Dragon's and Kuman even took care of the Thousand Sunny when the crew was on a two year long training period.

All about Donquixote Doflamingo

Donquixote Doflamingo is the antagonist during the Dressrosa Arc and his Devil fruit gives him the power to manipulate razor sharp strings over huge distances. He ran a mafia organization who were very loyal to him. He used his heritage as a Celestial Dragon to blackmail the World Government into making him a Warlord. This title helped him smuggle and start making artificial devil fruit known as SMILE. After getting defeated by Luffy and the whole truth exposed by Admiral Fujitora, Dolflamingo's title was removed and his reign of terror was put to an end. His privileges were taken away and it was due to this incident that Admiral Fujitora suggested that the Seven Warlords of the Sea should be disbanded entirely.

All about Edward Weevil

Edward Weevil is the illegitimate son of Whitebeard. He and his mother have been dead set on beating Whitebeard and his crew so that they can get their hands on their inheritance. Weevil's 480 million berry bounty was enough to catch the World Government's attention and they have him the title of a Warlord. Yet, he and his mother still try to chase the Whitebeard Pirates even though they no longer can count on the Marines’ support as the Seven Warlords of the Sea got disbanded.

All about Buggy the Clown

Buggy the Clown ate the Bara Bara fruit which gave him the ability to Strachan his body parts at will. The World Government offered him the title as Shichibukai so that he doesn't reveal Luffy and his association with Gol D. Roger. He immediately accepts the offer as he is relieved that he wouldn't be hunted by the marines again. He later sets up a mercenary service and he is one of the Shichibukai who was really sad when they were disbanded.

All about Blackbeard

Marshall D. Teach aka Blackbeard started the Blackbeard Pirates after he left Whitebeard's crew. He killed his own crewmate to obtain a rare devil fruit from him. Blackbeard defeated Ace and handed him over to the marines in order to get the title of a Shichibukai. He used this title and exploited it along and raided Impel Down. He resigned from the position after he killed Whitebeard during the Marineford War and took his position as one of the Four Emperors.

All about Trafalgar D. Law

Trafalgar D. Law is the captain of the Heart Pirates and he acquired the title of a Shichibukai by sending the World Government the hearts of a 100 Pirates. Law became a Shichibukai so that he could take down Doflamingo, who had Corazon. Once he had defeated and taken down Doflamingo, he handed in his resignation and then formed an alliance with Luffy.
