Gasparde’s History

Gasparde was once a Marine officer who later became a pirate to rule the seas. He stole his own Marine ship, converted it into a pirate vessel, and formed a crew under his command. Known as "the Marines' Greatest Stain," he gained infamy by raiding villages and committing heinous acts.

Gasparde participated in the Dead End Race, a pirate competition, which he rigged and won repeatedly to alleviate his boredom at sea. In one village, he killed Shuraiya and Adelle Bascùd's parents and forced others to serve him, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.

In his initial appearance, Gasparde, accompanied by his first mate Needless, clashed with Monkey D. Luffy in an underground pirate lounge, setting the stage for a tense encounter.

During the Dead End Race, Gasparde defeated fish-man pirate Willy and crew off-screen. He rigged the race to eliminate contestants, except the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy confronted Gasparde when he discovered this, leading to a fierce battle. Gasparde, with Ame Ame no Mi powers, absorbed Luffy's attacks and trapped him until Sanji revealed his weakness to flour.

Exploiting this weakness, Luffy defeated Gasparde, emphasizing his lack of understanding about being a true pirate. In the end, Luffy launched Gasparde into a cyclone with Gomu Gomu no Bazooka, and his fate remained unknown.

Gasparde’s Personality

Gasparde is a pirate who lacks camaraderie and loyalty, betraying the Marines and considering his crew as underlings. He tosses away crew members who fail him and forces survivors of his pillages to join as laborers.

Gasparde values power and enjoys cheating to win. He claims to hate the sea but desires power to rule it all. He scoffs at dreams and lacks a sense of adventure or fair sportsmanship, participating in rigged races for entertainment.

Gasparde’s Appearance

Gasparde is a tall and muscular man with neatly combed dark blonde hair. He wears an elaborate Marine jacket, leaving his chest bare, and with the Marine insignia on the back crossed out. Gasparde also wears black pants, a purple scarf, brown gloves, and steel boots.

Gasparde’s Abilities

Gasparde possesses immense physical strength and strategic intelligence. He also ate the Ame Ame no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that turns his body parts into candy syrup. This power allows him to make weapons, entrap foes, and imitate elasticity.

However, Gasparde's powers can be countered by flour, and he hasn't fully mastered his Devil Fruit.
