Komei’s History

In his youth, Komei witnessed a pirate attack in his homeland, sparking his sympathy for those without power. Joining the Marines, he aimed to prove that intellect could rival Devil Fruit powers in the New World. Despite initial doubts, Komei became a seasoned Vice Admiral, surprising even Garp.

To capture the Straw Hat Pirates, Komei devised the Straw Hat Eradication Maneuver. As part of the plan, he engaged in a Davy Back Fight with the Foxy Pirates, losing and joining their crew. Komei willingly wore a Foxy mask, claiming his connection to both the Marines and the sea. Fellow Marine Dojaku also joined, transforming the Sexy Foxy into a battleship.

Adventure of Nebulandia

The Foxy Pirates invited the Straw Hats to Mushroom Island for a Davy Back Fight rematch. Komei, introduced by Foxy, participated in the Eating Contest, a game he created. He assured everyone that the mushrooms were not poisonous and added a rule against spectators on the stage. However, Komei revealed his true intention: he and Dojaku joined the Foxy Pirates to lure the Straw Hats to Mushroom Island for capture.

During the contest, Komei unveiled the Drowsy Mushroom's effects, causing competitors to collapse. The stage transformed into a cage, lifted by a chain. Komei explained the need for a Rebound Mushroom to counteract the drowsiness. Robin intervened, obtaining the Rebound Mushroom, but Komei poured oil, causing Luffy to slip into the ocean.

Foxy's attempt to slow Komei failed as the Sexy Foxy reflected Foxy's beam, slowing everyone on the beach. Komei revealed his plan to ensure Luffy's freedom with the Rebound Mushroom and hinted at the next phase of his scheme as they sailed away. Komei and the Marines reached Nebulandia, where he informed the Straw Hats of his game. He set a deadline for rescuing their friends and mocked their reliance on Devil Fruit powers. As the mysterious plant weakened Luffy, Robin, and Foxy, Komei ridiculed their struggles.

During the night with seawater fog, Komei taunted Luffy, revelling in the cancellation of his Devil Fruit power. He received reports of infiltrators and captured Chopper, Brook, and the Foxy Pirates on Mushroom Island. Announcing the start of the third phase, Komei planned for Franky's and Usopp's infiltration, successfully capturing them.

Komei informed Luffy, Nami, and Foxy that their friends had been captured and set a deadline for their rescue. He threatened to send them to Impel Down if they failed.

As Luffy approached his tied-up crewmates, Komei tricked him into falling into a pitfall filled with seawater. Expressing his hatred for pirates, Komei used Busoshoku Haki to transform his fan into a sword, attempting to force Luffy into the water. Nami intervened with an explosion, temporarily driving Komei away.

Returning, Komei prepared to attack Nami, but Foxy and Kansho intervened. Komei, held at gunpoint, witnessed Nami reviving Luffy. However, Kansho revealed his allegiance to Komei, shooting Luffy and betraying Foxy. Despite Nami's Thunder Lance Tempo, Komei redirected the attack, electrocuting her and Foxy. With the Straw Hats captured, Komei planned to take them to Marine Headquarters. As preparations were underway, the eruption of a volcano led to the unexpected emergence of a snake carrying the other Straw Hats and Foxy Pirates.

Komei witnessed the pirates overpower the Marines, freeing Foxy and the Straw Hats, restoring Zoro and Sanji's strength. Although he mocked the Straw Hats for not saving their captain, he was shocked when Luffy, protected by a Foxy trinket, emerged alive. Cursing Luffy's luck, Komei saw Foxy defeat Kansho but easily blew Foxy into a pitfall with his fan. Annoyed at being caught off-guard, Komei remained determined to bring down the Straw Hats. Nami attacked him with Heat Egg, but Komei extinguished the flames with his fan. Using Busoshoku Haki, he unleashed a strong gust of wind, destroying a dam and flooding the area with seawater. Luffy confronted Komei, who expressed indifference to punishment as long as he completed his mission.

In their battle, Luffy's strikes were deflected by Komei's fan, and Komei sent him flying into the seawater. However, Luffy jumped out, and Komei attacked using his fan and a bazooka. Though he seemingly hit Luffy, Foxy slowed down the shot, allowing Luffy to divert it and drain the seawater.

Komei and Luffy engaged in a final battle, and Luffy knocked away Komei's bazooka. They faced off, and Luffy, understanding Komei's motives, vowed to protect his friends. Despite Komei's efforts, Luffy used the creature from Mushroom Island as a springboard and hit Komei with Gomu Gomu no Red Hawk, defeating him. In defeat, Komei reached out to Luffy, struggling to accept his loss.

Later, Tsuru received a report that Komei and the other Marines were taken onto the battleships. Garp commented that Komei would likely bounce back in no time.

Komei’s Personality

Komei is cunning, crafting elaborate plans to infiltrate the Foxy Pirates, capture Zoro and Sanji, and lure the Straw Hat Pirates to Nebulandia. His deep hatred for pirates stems from his village being raided by them as a child.

Determined to end the Great Pirate Age, he joined the Marines, growing frustrated with their tolerance for pirates. He takes pirate hunting personally, going to extremes and disobeying Marine orders to bring them down.

He also values wisdom in battle and dislikes reliance on Devil Fruit's powers.

Komei’s Appearance

Komei wears a cream robe with green patterns and a purple sash, along with the standard Marine coat and a blue hat with the Marine symbol. As a Foxy Pirate, he wore a Foxy mask and didn't have a Marine hat or coat. He has long gray hair, a thin mustache, and a pointed beard. Komei bears two scars on the left side of his forehead and another near his left eye.

In his youth, he wore the standard Marine uniform, had brown, shorter hair, and a smaller mustache, appearing skinny.

Komei’s Abilities

Komei is a Special Operations Advisor in the Marines, known as the "Genius Tactician." He excels in strategic planning and has a deep understanding of his enemies. He is also exceptionally fast and has demonstrated his analytical skills by creating multi-layered plans to take down powerful pirates, including the Straw Hat crew.

He can also use Busoshoku Haki, enhancing his combat abilities.
