On the Polestar Island in the East Blue, a metropolis called Loguetown occupies almost the whole island, with the exception of a few rugged hills. The pirate king Gol D. Roger was born and executed here, which makes this town renowned as being “The Town of the Beginning and the End.” It serves as the main settlement of the Loguetown Arc.
Since Loguetown is located in a favorable location very close to Reverse Mountain, just out of sight of the Red Line, almost all East Blue ships, especially pirate ships, travel there to stock up supplies for the Grand Line.

The weather in Loguetown is often sunny and bright, and occasionally partly cloudy. A significant storm unlike any other recorded weather event happened nearby while the Straw Hat Pirates were at Loguetown.
Loguetown is located northeast of the entrance to Reverse Mountain and just north of the Calm Belt. As a result, before entering the Grand Line, many East Blue pirates make a halt there to obtain supplies. Many pirates have been caught before reaching the Grand Line since Smoker was appointed captain of the neighborhood Marine base.
Following are the major locations in Loguetown:
In the middle of the town lies the Execution Platform, where the Pirate King Gol D. Roger was executed. While the Straw Hat Pirates were in the town, the platform was destroyed when a strike of lightning fell upon it.
Up until two years ago, Captain Smoker was in charge of the base. He was known for not allowing any pirates to escape the island. His record was destroyed two years ago when the Straw Hat Pirates, and Buggy and Alvida Alliance escaped. As a result, Smoker left, and it is unknown who now controls the base.
The Arms Shop is a family business owned by Ipponmatsu. The store has been operating for more than 200 years, and it offers both new and fashionable swords as well as ancient swords. Also, it offers clubs, axes, flintlock guns, armor, daggers, spears, and more. The store accepts polishing projects as well. Before Captain Smoker was appointed to run the town, it had a large consumer base. The shop's best sword up until two years ago was Yubashiri.
After his swords were destroyed, Zoro headed to this shop to get new ones. He took the cursed blade Sandai Kitetsu, and was given Yubashiri, a family heirloom, free of charge by Ipponmatsu, as he was astounded by Zoro’s swordsmanship.
Hanger works in the upscale factory store Rebecca Hanberg. This is where Nami went to try out some clothes.
The Fisherman King Uotome is a fish market owned by Sapi. This is where Sanji bought a blue-finned elephant tuna.
The Antique House is a hip store that offers cheap stylish apparel. Nami bought a massive amount of clothing from Rebecca Henberg after trying out a lot of clothes there.
The Glove Factory is located in Loguetown, neighboring the Robecca Hanberg.
Ed owns Love Love Pirates, an anime-only store that probably sells accessories of returning pirates from the Grand Line.
This is an anime-only bar in Loguetown that is dedicated to the late Pirate King Gol D. Roger. This pub used to be the busiest in town, a favorite hangout for pirates. Only Marines had been visiting the pub since Gol D. Roger’s execution until Luffy showed up.
Coincidentally, Gol D. Roger’s former place at the bar table was taken by Luffy, as shown in the flashbank of Roger talking to Raoul, the person in charge of the bar.
Gold D. Roger was born in Loguetown. The marines determined that the Pirate King should be put to death just where he was born after Roger surrendered himself. With his last words, Roger inspired a whole new generation of pirates at the time of his execution in Loguetown, thus beginning the new era of piracy.
The Straw Hat Pirates went their separate ways to shop and explore after reaching Loguetown. Each crew member faced their own difficulties in certain circumstances, and ultimately fled after narrowly escaping from the Marines and other rival pirates.
The words prologue and epilogue, which describe the events before and after a story without being directly related to the storyline, are taken from the name of the town. Oda developed “Logue” Town by combining the roots of the two terms. The town in the beginning and the end is another name for this place. All of these indicate that the late Pirate King was born and died in Loguetown.
Florence is the design inspiration for the city. In Loguetown, the tower of the Palazzo Vecchio and the Florence Cathedral may be seen. Oda incorporated Florentine stores like Ottino and the Madova Glove Factory into the cityscape. In Loguetown, there is also Villa Medici. Toscany was ruled by the House of Medici, whose capital was Florence.
A. Loguetown was briefly shown at the end of One Piece Episode 47, titled, “You’ve been Waiting For it! The Return of Captain Buggy!”. Post this, Loguetown had its own arc starting from episode 48 to episode 53.
A. In the Loguetown Arc, The Straw Hat Pirates halt at Loguetown to gather supplies before they continue their journey towards the Grand Line. The crew faced their separate difficulties and narrowly escaped from the Marines and a few rival pirates.
A. At first, a mysterious lightning strike interrupted when Buggy was about to execute Luffy at the Execution Platform, which allowed Luffy to be free. Later, Dragon confronted Smoker, who was holding down Luffy to capture him, which gave Luffy an opening to escape.
