The Bari Bari no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to build barriers, and transforms them into a Barrier Human. It was formerly consumed by Kurozumi Semimaru and is currently by Bartolomeo.

Kurozumi Semimaru ate the Bari Bari no Mi around 41 years ago. Bartolomeo obtained the fruit and ate it some time after his death.
The Fruit’s given power is the capacity to conjure physical barriers—either invisible or clearly transparent, resembling panes of glass—by crossing one’s fingers. This defends the user from attacks from either the front or the back. The barriers have incredible defensive force, able to withstand even a fish-blow man’s that may shatter 400 tiles, injuring the fish-hand man’s in return.
It also successfully repelled Hakuba’s strikes and the shockwave caused by Elizabello II’s King Punch, which was powerful enough to destroy an entire citadel. Bartolemeo believed his barriers were “unbreakable” and could stop the Birdcage (which can slice buildings and meteorites with ease). Kurozumi Semimaru demonstrated that the barrier can also withstand an extremely powerful slash from Kozuki Oden, whose swordsmanship could cut the gigantic Mountain God in half and even damage the near-invincible Kaidou.
The shield can also be used offensively by launching it forward to create enormous forces to strike targets with, or to redirect enemies’ forces back at them. Another advantage of this fruit is that Bartolomeo can build solid structures out of his barriers, such as steps that people can stand on, making it beneficial for getting to difficult-to-reach places.
While it is unknown whether the barriers have a damage limit, they do have flaws. The barriers are not soundproof, as they were unable to block Diamante’s taunts about murder in h Rebecca’s mother. Another limitation is that he can only sustain one barrier at a time, and that there is a maximum total surface area that the one barrier can cover; examples of the dangers of this weakness include being unable to completely block Pica’s giant stone fist, as well as being incapable of producing more barriers after a staircase out of them. The barriers aren’t entirely immovable by outer forces, as witnessed when Bartolomeo tried to block the Birdcage.
Furthermore, certain barrier shapes can still be avoided by walking around, above, or below them, especially if the user is ambushed or attacked by an enemy with superhuman speed. This is not generally an issue because Bartolomeo can easily alter the shape of his barrier even after it has been deployed. In order to assault, Bartolomeo must relocate or adjust his barriers, surrendering defensive protection for offense.
The fruit does not grant the user superhuman durability, therefore they are vulnerable if the barrier is breached. Aside from these flaws, it shares the normal flaws of Devil Fruits. Uta is the only known character who has ever succeeded in breaking through Bartolomeo’s barrier.
Semimaru, the previous user of this fruit, used its ability to save Wano shogun Orochi from a raged Kozuki Oden. Bartolomeo uses this fruit’s ability to protect himself in battle, sitting calmly as his unwary opponents assault and damage themselves. He may also employ the shields offensively to strike down and repel his targets, or even as walls to immobilize and crush his victims.
The barriers can also be used for other purposes, such as a foothold, and Bartolomeo can shape them into stairways to access higher ground.
There are different variations of the Bari Bari no Mi demonstrated by Bartolomeo, such as:
By crossing his fingers, Bartolomeo activated his fruit’s power, enabling a transparent barrier to appear that can defend him from attacks. So far, we have seen two shapes for his barrier: a rectangle barrier and a semi-spherical barrier.
After building a barrier, Bartolomeo shoots it at high speed towards the enemy, crushing it against them. The strike is strong enough to knock out Elizabello II and cause a shock wave. It was first seen being used against Elizabello in the Corrida Colosseum, just after protecting Bartolomeo from the King Punch.
Bartolomeo creates a curved translucent rectangular barrier in front of himself and charges forward, knocking and mowing anything in his path like a bulldozer. It was originally used on Gladius, several of Doflamingo’s troops, and Cavendish, who happened to be in the way.
Bartolomeo constructs a circular barrier that prevents anything within from departing and anything outside from penetrating. It was originally seen being used to try to stop Gladius’ strikes.
By clenching his hands and crossing his fingers, Bartolomeo triggers this fruit’s capacity to transform the shape of his barrier into numerous configurations while keeping the barrier’s toughness.
Bartolomeo transforms his barriers into a staircase that let him or his friends roam freely in the air while protecting them from attacks from below. It was initially seen assisting Luffy and Law in reaching the fourth level of the King’s Plateau.
Bartolomeo transforms his barriers into a bag tennis racket. With his power, he can expand this barrier to protect someone or something. It was initially shown protecting Nico Robin from Gladius’ Catapult Punc Attack.
Bartolomeo crosses his fingers and produces a small spherical barrier around his right hand, which he molds into a fist.
After using the “Homage Shinken”, Bartolomeo punches his opponents, using the barrier around his fist to magnify the force of the punch. It’s a clear and deliberate homage to Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Pistol. It was originally seen being used to murder Gladius.
Bartolomeo uses Barrierbility to shape a barrier into a massive hand and push it forward, allowing him to contain and push things. It was initially deployed against Bill to divert his huge flow of molten ore.
A. Sometime after Kurozumi Semimaru’s death, Bartolomeo acquired and consumed the Bari Bari no Mi fruit.
A. The Bari Bari no Mi gives its user the ability to generate and manipulate unbreakable see through barriers at will.
A. Bartolomeo’s barrier is unbreakable by the strongest of opponents, even Elizabello’s punch couldn’t break it. It is yet to be witnessed whether Luffy can break this barrier or not.
