Charlotte Flampe’s History

Charlotte Flampe’s past is shrouded in mystery. Other than the fact that she is the 36th daughter and 77th child of the Charlotte Family, as well as an officer of the Big Mom Pirates.

Whole Cake Island Arc

During the second battle between Katakuri and Monkey D. Luffy in the Mirro-World, Charlotte Flampe entered the scene with some subordinates. Her intention was to have them shoot Luffy so that she could become Katakuri's favorite sister.

When Luffy skillfully dodged the shots, Flampe punished one of her subordinates by stabbing him with a fork for his failure. She couldn't help but acknowledge Luffy's tenacity as he refused to give up.

Flampe, determined to succeed, managed to shoot Luffy in the leg with her Silent Blowgun. She gleefully laughed as Katakuri took advantage of her interference and landed a critical blow on Luffy. However, her joy was short-lived when Luffy continued to rise despite the beating.

In an attempt to shoot Luffy again, she missed her target, causing Luffy to fall down. Flampe and her subordinates ridiculed him, which caught Katakuri's attention.

Thinking Katakuri was coming to praise her, Flampe was in for a rude awakening. Katakuri, furious with her interference, stabbed himself and revealed his mouth as he shouted at her. He made it clear that she had crossed a line by meddling in his battle.

Flampe's admiration for her brother was shattered, and she mocked his mouth, instructing her subordinates to take pictures of it to show to everyone. However, their plans were cut short as a powerful blast of Haoshoku Haki from Luffy and Katakuri knocked Flampe and her subordinates unconscious.

Wano Country Arc

Later, when Big Mom attempted to infiltrate Wano Country, Flampe accompanied her mother and crew as they approached the waterfall leading into the country. However, their ship was attacked by King just before reaching the top, causing it to fall off the waterfall and Big Mom to plunge into the sea.

Although the ship remained afloat, Flampe and the rest of her family were left contemplating their situation, wondering if waiting was their only option.

News reached the crew about Big Mom forming an alliance with Kaido. On the day of the Fire Festival, the Big Mom Pirates discussed their priority of capturing Luffy, but Flampe, uninterested in that goal, expressed her desire to become Kaido's new favorite instead.

As they attempted to climb the waterfall once again, they were unexpectedly confronted by the appearance of Marco, which shocked them. Marco then proceeded to knock down their ship, disrupting their plans.

Charlotte Flampe’s Personality

Flampe is an obsessive girl who looks up to her older brother Katakuri because of his apparent perfection, to the point that she would interrupt the battle between him and Luffy in order to preserve that status. She also loves him to the point that she would compete with her siblings to get her brother’s favoritism.

However, this obsession is entirely superficial, since Flampe displayed immense shock when Katakuri injured himself, and repeatedly mocked the appearance of her brother's hidden mouth. Flampe thus is very petty and immature, even threatening to gossip about Katakuri's display of weakness to everyone, all while disowning him as a relative of hers.

Flampe is sadistic and tends to laugh at the misfortune of her enemies. This also includes her subordinates, as she will immediately demean and even attack them if they do something that fails to meet her standards.

She also takes enjoyment in toying with and torturing her opponents along with her subordinates. This extends to anyone she dislikes, as she attempted to torment Katakuri with the prospect of humiliating him about his mouth to the public.

Flampe is shown to be rather vain, taking pleasure in her status as the cutest sister (despite said status being mostly manufactured). However, she is loyal to her mother and her family, as she accompanied Big Mom and her siblings to infiltrate Wano to retrieve Zeus and get her revenge on Luffy. She appears to be confident in her sharpshooting abilities and regards being stealthy.

Despite her sadism, Flampe is disgusted by blood, as she repeatedly derided Luffy for being bloodied during his fight with Katakuri, and likewise became extremely angry and disgusted with Katakuri himself when some of his blood splashed on her face.

Charlotte Flampe’s Appearance

Flampe is depicted as a slender, young girl with long, dark hair styled in a ponytail that curls at the end. She adorns her ponytail with a flower-shaped hair tie. Her attire consists of a dark red shirt with a frilly high collar and long frilly sleeves. She pairs this with dark red tights and light-colored loafers.

Additionally, Flampe wears a unique outfit that resembles a polka-dotted jelly bean. This outfit allows her to float and bounce around, giving her a distinctive appearance.

Charlotte Flampe’s Abilities

Flampe holds significant positions within the Big Mom Pirates, showcasing her authority and capabilities. As the Minister of Honey, she holds jurisdiction over Rokumitsu Island, overseeing its operations and affairs. Additionally, she serves as the Captain of the Special Attack Unit, commanding a squad specialized in executing special attacks.

Despite her young age, Flampe's status as an officer in the Big Mom Pirates grants her the ability to issue orders to lower-ranked crew members, demonstrating her influence within the organization.

However, Flampe's willpower is not particularly strong, as she was easily incapacitated by the overwhelming force of Luffy and Katakuri's Haoshoku Haki. Their Haki rendered her unconscious, highlighting her vulnerability in the face of powerful individuals.

Flampe possesses a unique device known as the Fluffy Balloon System, integrated into her outfit. This apparatus allows her to float in the air like a balloon, granting her increased mobility and unconventional advantages during combat.

The Fluffy Balloon System was obtained by Big Mom through her destructive activities in other countries, indicating the extent of the crew's resources.

Her primary weapon of choice is a blowgun, which she skillfully employs to shoot "Numbing Needles." As a proficient marksman, Flampe's dress momentarily deflates when she fires, utilizing the stored air within it to propel the blowgun's projectiles with remarkable range.

The needles are designed to be silent, enabling Flampe to catch her enemies off guard. However, their power does not seem to be exceptionally strong. Notably, the silent nature of the needles allows Flampe to interfere unnoticed by fighters like Luffy and Katakuri, even though they possess Kenbunshoku Haki, a heightened sense of observation.

Flampe's disciplinary methods include the use of a fork, which she employs to punish snipers who fail to hit their intended targets, showcasing her strict and demanding nature within the crew.

Charlotte Flampe’s Relationships

Family

Flampe's loyalty to her mother was evident when she accompanied her to Wano Country seeking revenge against the Straw Hat Pirates. Initially, Flampe held a deep admiration for her brother Katakuri and went as far as becoming the president of a fan club dedicated to him. During Katakuri's intense battle with Luffy, Flampe interrupted the fight with the intention of preserving her brother's flawless reputation and winning his favor.

However, her intrusion did not go as planned. Katakuri, upon realizing Flampe's interference, reacted with anger and disappointment. He even went to the extent of impaling himself with his trident to express his disapproval of her actions, firmly instructing her never to interrupt his duel with Luffy.

When Flampe caught a glimpse of Katakuri's teeth, she was overcome with terror and disgust, labeling him a "monster." Distraught by the appearance of his mouth, Flampe's admiration turned into disdain, and she began ridiculing and hating him. In an attempt to expose his unusual teeth to the whole of Totto Land, she had her subordinates take pictures of him.

However, Katakuri, not wanting her to interfere further in his fight and growing tired of her constant complaints, used his Haoshoku Haki to knock Flampe and her subordinates unconscious, serving as a punishment for their behavior.

Enemy

As a result of witnessing the intense battle between Katakuri and Luffy, Flampe develops a deep animosity towards Luffy and derogatorily refers to him as a "monkey." Determined to protect her brother's flawless reputation, Flampe takes drastic measures to ensure Luffy doesn't undermine Katakuri's status.

During the fight, she cunningly blows a dart at Luffy, creating an opening for her brother to inflict a wound upon him. Flampe finds this act amusing, reveling in the thought of her brother getting the upper hand.

However, her satisfaction is short-lived as Luffy quickly recovers and continues to fight. In a desperate attempt to incapacitate him once again, Flampe tries to shoot Luffy with her Silent Blowgun. To her astonishment, Luffy manages to evade her attack, leaving her shocked by his agility and reflexes. She realizes that he was able to dodge her silent needle, a feat she hadn't anticipated.

The turning point comes when Luffy and Katakuri utilize their Haoshoku Haki, a powerful form of Haki that overwhelms the weaker-willed individuals around them. Flampe and her subordinates are rendered unconscious by the immense pressure of their Haki, allowing the two fighters to resume their battle undisturbed.

Before losing consciousness, Flampe experiences a final shock as she learns about Luffy's possession of Haoshoku Haki, further highlighting his strength and making her reassess her previous underestimation of him.
