Charlotte Linlin, aka Big mom, is known to be one of the powerful antagonists in One Piece and she is a part of one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. With her power, she was able to build Totto Land with 35 other islands surrounding it. She was a member of the Rock Pirates and alongside Whitebeard, Kaido and Shiki, they formed the deadliest pirate band.
As a child, Big Mom already had a bounty of over 500 million berries and she became a threat to the government. She possesses the power of the Soul Soul devil fruit which gives her the power to absorb as much of a person's lifespan as she wishes. She also has a vast network of information and has information on everyone and everything.

Dorry and Brogy made their own pirate crew and left Elbaf. They caused a lot of turmoil during their journey around the world and gained a bounty of 100 million berries. Years later, some of the Giant Warrior Pirates were captured and then ordered to be executed. Mother Carmel put out a scripture regarding the salvation of the giants from a public execution. Due to this noble act, Mother Carmel was welcomed into Elbaf with open hands due to her generosity and the desire to form a bond between humans and giants.
However, Mother Carmel wasn't as nice as she looked, she only opened Sheep's House to sell all the giant orphans to the World Government as she knew that Elbaf would give her a bigger success rate and access to the "merchandise". She was the person who gave the World Government their first giant, John Giant, who was enlisted with the organization.
Even though Mother Carmel took Charlotte Linlin into the orphanage, even though Linlin has several incidents which came into being like her killing a bear with just a single hit, causing severe injury to Eiri when she tried to swat a mosquito off him, etc. Despite these incidents, the giants accepted Linlin as their own and she also felt that too.
When the annual Winter Solstice Festival came, the giants had prepared Selma for the upcoming twelve-day fast, which Linlin ate all for herself. By the seventh day of the fast, Linlin had lost control of her hunger and wanted more of Selma, which resulted in her causing destruction to the village. Despite Carmel's wishes, the Elder Warrior Jorul labeled Linlin an evil spirit and tried to take her down.
Linlin easily dodged Jorul's attacks and threw him down, fatally injuring him. Carmel used her devil fruit powers to tone down the flames that were spreading through the village and gave life to homie Pandora and the citizens believed that she was a sun, God. After Linlin ate Selma to her satisfaction, Jarul tried to kill her but Carmel intervened and told him that she'll take Linlin away.
Even though Linlin had caused so much destruction, the villagers spared her life because of Carmel. She took away Linlin and all the other orphans with her as they didn't want to leave her. As Linlin had inflicted severe damage on Jorul, he sadly passed away. The giants were angered and sad. When they approached Linlin about this, she innocently questioned Jorul's death as if she didn't have a memory of the rampage.
A giant from Elbaf visited the orphan of Sheep's House and when he was checking on Carmel and the orphans, he witnessed Linlin commit a horrific act which made Carmel and the other orphans disappear in the middle of her sixth birthday celebration. The giant quickly went back and returned to Elbaf to tell what took place and they all were very furious with Linlin and refused to even mention her name.
Linlin had lived in Sheep’s House, which would then become the Whole Cake Island. After the members of Sheep’s House went missing, Linlin formed a partnership with Streusan, she then expressed the desire to turn the island into a place where everyone irrespective of their race could live in harmony. Thus Totto Land was born.
During the Fishman Island Arc, Big Mom was angry at the fact that Fishman Island was unable to make their monthly payment. When she called the island, Luffy was the one who picked up Den Den Munshi and said that he was the one who ate all the candy that was meant for her. Big Mom claimed that Luffy was bluffing but Luffy said that he was speaking the truth and offered her their treasure as compensation.
Big Mom was offended and said she did not want the treasure but only the candy. Luffy thought that Fishman Island was in danger under Big mom so he told her that when they meet in the New World he would take Fishman Island from her and make it his territory. After this encounter, Big Mom became very interested in Luffy and decided to shift her anger from Fishman Pirates to Luffy.
During the Zou Arc, Big Mom sent her people to Zou to give a tea party invitation to Sanji to force him to become a part of his plan to assassinate the Vinsmokes and said that if Sanji did not listen to her she would deliver him Zeff’s decapitated head. Sanji agreed and before arriving at Whole Cake Island, Big Mom told Pudding to seduce Sanji as a part of her plan.
During the Whole Cake Island Arc, Luffy and his team call themselves the ‘Sanji Retrieval Team’ as they had come there to save Sanji from his arranged marriage with Charlotte Pudding. This marriage was arranged so that there is a political alliance between the Charlotte Family and the Vinsmoke Family. This arc was also the first time that Luffy and Big Mom had a face-to-face encounter.
During the Levely Arc, Big Mom came back to Whole Cake Island and read the naper, she was very angry as the papers had said that Luffy had defeated her. She then swore that she would take revenge on Luffy and his crew. She then called Kaido and told him that she would come to Wano to get Luffy’s head. When Kaido protested, she reminded him of what he owed her and he reluctantly agreed.
During the Wano Country Arc, Law and the Worst generation were seen fighting against Kaido and Big Mom but they were defeated. After recovering from the injuries, he and Kid fought against Big Mom together when she was chasing Nami and Usopp.
As a child Big Mom used to be a very kind-hearted girl but over time she started to become selfish and cruel. Big Mom is known for her very huge appetite and has all the islands that she protects pay her taxes in the form of any sweets or confectionery that they make. If anyone messes with her food, Big Mom tends to go very berserk and will destroy anything that will come her way.
Big Mom also suffers from an eating disorder known as Hunger Pangs which means that she tends to become obsessed with food that has a ‘Sweet Theme’ and can also go to lengths to get what she wants to eat. She has had this disorder since she was 5 years old. Usually during her Hunger Pang rampages, Big Mom only tends to retain a small amount of consciousness and rationality when she is in this state.
As Big Mom loves sweets a lot, she is fond of Tea parties and she always looks forward to them. She is very generous and nice to all the people who come to her Tea Parties. Big Mom wanted to create a nation where everyone lived in peace and harmony. This was her wish as she had a family that was very diverse.
Big Mom was so dedicated to making her dream come true that was ready to invest a lot of money to make it come true but her dream made her blind that she did not see how Caesar was exploiting her for his own needs. Big Mom also likes to collect rare and unique animals which fascinate her. Big Mom is also full of pride and sees herself as a superior being due to her abilities.
She does not like any outside help to aid her. She tends to taunt her enemies and looks down on them but does not like it when someone does it to her. Her arrogant nature tends to make her oblivious to the dangers that are ahead of her and her crew. Despite being prideful, Big Mom also acknowledges enemies who are powerful too.
Big Mom is known to have a business-like mind and says that pirates should not take compromises or delays for things that they want. This also applies to her crew members, that is someone should leave the crew Big Mom makes them give up something precious to them irrespective of what their reason to leave is.
Big Mom is known to be very cunning and can break the promises that she has made at any point to get what she wants. Her need for power is tremendous and will make all the necessary things happen to gain it. Big Mom does not like talking about her personal life and dislikes it when people ask or question her about it. She is also quite hypocritical and hates it when people don't keep their promises and will punish those people but on the other hand, she will lie and deceive people if she needs to get her hands on something.
Big Mom is known to be ruthless and unstable, she will destroy cities and islands that do not keep their word or anger her in any way even if it’s her children. Even though Big Mom says that she would want to bring peace to the world, she enjoys causing chaos more. She can be very discriminatory even though she build a nation where all races could live together.
Big Mom can be delusional at times and considers herself the kind queen of the world, even though she makes sure that every single one of her demands is met. She thinks that people who disobey her are all selfish and need to be killed. Big Mom was attached to Mother Carmel and was heartbroken when she and the other orphans just disappeared out of the blue.
She has a portrait of Mother Carmel and if anything happens to it, she goes into a state of psychological crisis. In this state, she tends to become unaware of her surroundings. Big Mom loves young kids who are under the age of 10 and she enters something known as ‘Mother Mode’ which is her friendly state.
Big Mom is a round obese old woman who has a huge body and is 29 feet tall. She is said to be taller than Whitebeard himself. Even as a child Big Mom was big for her age and always mistaken as a giant. She has round orange eyes with prominent eyelashes and wears purple eyeshadow. She has a vast mouth with large wide teeth and puts on red lipstick.
She has long, curly, and wild pink hair that falls halfway to her back. She has a long beak-like nose with plump round cheeks. She also has a tattoo on her left shoulder and arm which is a large red heart framed with thin lines curled at the bottom which all top a smaller heart.
Big Mom wears a large pink dress with red polka dots with white ruffles around the neck and hemline. It has a white cape attached to its back. She wears it with dark blue high heels and a turquoise pear wristband.
Big Mom is really good at gathering information due to her power and influence. She used this information to threaten people to get what she wanted. She is also known to be very smart and cunning. She will even go to the extent of breaking promises it gets her what she wants. She tends to marry her kids off to strong people so that she can enhance her crew's strength.
Big Mom had immense physical power due to her huge size. She was also born with unnatural strength which huge destructive power. She alone can cause devastating damage to towns, cities, and islands.
Big Mom has high tolerance and endurance levels due to her tough skin. However, when she is in a state of psychological crisis she loses all her toughness. She is known to have a lot of stamina in her and also has some abnormal qualities like an extremely high metabolism.
Big Mom is also quite fast and agile in combat and can catch up with her enemies easily. She also has the ability to let out an extremely loud shriek when she is in her psychological crisis state which can send objects and people flying away.
Homies are things that have been brought to life and are infused with a soul fragment which gives them the ability to speak and move. Big Mom has four homies Zeus, Prometheus, Napoleon and Hera.
Big Mom’s devil fruit allows the user to manipulate souls, this consists of manifesting and drawing out the souls of the people who are scared. With her devil fruit powers, Big Mom imposed a toll on all the citizens of Totto and forced them to give up a month's worth of their soul every six months or leave. She called them with the help of her incarnations. She used her power to kill people by taking almost their whole life span.
Big Mom created three special homies out of her strong souls which are quite powerful. These special homies are Napoleon the Bicorne, Prometheus the Sun, and Zeus the Thundercloud. She uses them individually as well as combined to unleash powerful attacks at her enemies. Even though her homies are quite strong, Zeus in particular was quite carefree and went with Nami because she fed him thunderclouds. He later came back to BigMom in Onigashima.
As Big Mom was fed up with Zeus, she made another thunderstorm homie known as Hera and Hera was more in sync with Napoleon and Prometheus than Zeus ever was. Big Mom had told Hera to eat Zeus's soul to become stronger. As Zeus rebelled against Big Mom, she extracted him, which weakened him and Hera devoured him. However, Zeus's soul fragment successfully escaped into Nami's Clima-Tact which granted him a new body.
In this technique, Linlin extracts pieces from her extremely strong soul and makes them capable enough to collect and extract other people's souls with the help of Soul Pocus. These incarnations are intelligent enough to be capable of talking.
This is Linlin's signature technique. In this technique, Linlin can directly speak to the soul's attachment to life and demand that the person either give in to her demands or give her their lifespan. She can take any amount of lifespan that she wants.
Homies are things that have been brought to life and are infused with a soul fragment which gives them the ability to speak and move. Big Mom has four homies.
In this technique, Zeus is summoned on Big Mom's left arm and charges up with electricity, and then slams down on her opponent. She also strikes them down with her superhuman strength and a powerful bolt of lightning.
In this technique, Big Mom uses Zeus to shoot a horizontal lightning bolt at the enemy.
In this technique, Big Mom commands Zeus's lightning to strike through the clouds in all directions. She covers all her surroundings with an electrical thunderstorm. The lighting can change its direction to strike a particular target.
In this technique, Big Mom throws Prometheus at her enemies or uses him to segment her punches. This creates a large and fiery explosion upon impact. These flames are powerful enough to even hurt those who are wearing heat-resistant clothing.
In this technique, Big Mom has Prometheus spit several powerful fireballs at her opponents.
In this technique, Prometheus charges at his enemies and takes the form of a powerful blast that shoots through them.
In this technique, Big Mom swings Napoleon with such force that she creates shockwaves that destroy everything in her path.
In this technique, Big Mom uses Hera to shoot a bolt of lightning at her enemies which creates a large explosion on impact. It destroys anything that comes in its path.
In this technique, Big Mom commands Hera to strike lightning in all directions and causes a thunderstorm in her surroundings.
In this technique, Napoleon turns into its seax form and Big Mom sets the blade aligned with Prometheus flames. This cuts and burns the enemy.
This is a combined attack by Hera, Prometheus, and Napoleon. In this technique, they assemble and with Napoleon's Gladius blade piercing through with Prometheus as the base and Hera as the tip, Prometheus and Hera merge into their respective elements. This forms several tendrils of lightning and fire that make a circular energy ring between them. Then Big Mom swings Napoleon and unleashes the energy at her enemies.
In this technique, Big Mom infuses Napoleon with Hera's lightning and then jumps in the air, somersaulting forward while holding the blade before striking down with a lightning-powered slash.
This is another combined attack of Napoleon, Prometheus, and Hera. In this technique, they have the Maser Ho formation but instead of firing a beam, they form a continuous blade that Big Mom uses as her sword.
Big Mom is one of the few people who can use all three types of Haki
Big Mom is a master in using Hoashoku Haki. She can be seen using it against Sanji when the portrait of Mother Carmel was destroyed. She has also used this while fighting with Kaido at Onigashima, she infused it with Black Lightning which gave a boost to her physical strength and Busoshoku Haki.
Big Mom is very skilled in using Busoshoku Haki. She hardens one of her arms and uses it to block the attacks coming at her. This helps her break through even the most powerful defenses. She is also able to use an advanced version of this which allows her to strike her opponents without making any direct contact with them.
Big Mom is also skilled in using Kenbunshoku Haki and was able to take in the power of Zoro’s sword and helped Kaido dodge the attack.
Big Mom uses a flintlock and a normal sword.
When Linlin was a little child, she looked up to her parents and trusted e everything they said. Her parents were ultimately forced to leave her due to her out-of-control behavior and the numerous crimes she committed against her homeland. After leaving, her mother wept, and both of her parents hoped that their daughter would have a better life while in Mother Carmel's care.
At first, Linlin appeared to be upbeat about their leaving and thought they would return for her. Eventually, she gave up and went to the Sheep's House without expressing any regret or resentment towards her parents. She never seemed to mention her parents again, being attached to Carmel and finally forming her own tyrannically matriarchal household.
Charlotte Pudding claims that most of the children have already given up on their dreams of marrying someone of their own will, knowing they cannot disobey Big Mom and that she forces them into marriages in order to strengthen her own crew.
Lola was carefree and unaware of the magnitude of her mother's brutality, but she was unfazed and left the New World to find a husband of her own. Most of Big Mom's children are very scared of her and try their best not to enrage her because of her merciless and brutal behavior.
In order to have children, Linlin would kidnap her husband. While she is pregnant, her current husband remains by her side. However, as soon as she gives birth to a healthy kid, she will quickly divorce him without giving him the chance to even hold the child once, much less let them help in raising it.
All of them had no significance to her because she saw them as "outsiders" with no link to the Charlotte Family, a mindset she passed on to some of her kids and allowed them to murder these ex-husbands.
Streusen met Linlin when she was six years old. Streusen thought it would be a waste to let Linlin die and approached her in a kind and helpful manner after seeing what Linlin had done which resulted in the disappearance of Carmel and the other orphans. Together, the two created the Big Mom Pirates. At the moment, Streusen respects Linlin's authority and displays modesty in her presence. She respects his cooking abilities in return.
To create an alliance with the Vinsmoke Family, Big Mom tried to be friendly and accommodating to them. She wanted to use the family to obtain access to the cutting-edge combat technology used by Germa 66. On the other hand, Judge wanted to use her armies to retake the North Blue and restore the Vinsmoke Family's kingdom. Despite the "alliance," Judge despises Big Mom and thinks she is a "madwoman" in general.
He refused to give her one of his "precious" sons, so he purposefully sought his estranged son Sanji to satisfy her demands for a blood relationship with her family. As a result, none of them had genuine intentions toward the other; instead, they pretended to be polite in order to get their way.
When Luffy learned that Big Mom had forced Sanji into marrying one of her daughters by threatening to kill Zeff, he became very angry. Luffy made the decision to sneak onto Whole Cake Island to save Sanji and disrupt the ceremony. Big Mom did not underestimate Luffy's might, despite the fact that she believes she is much stronger than him. She appears to view him as a worthy foe.
Tamago told Sanji that, if he cooperates with the wedding, Big Mom is likely to offer him a position within her crew that is even better than the one he currently holds with the Straw Hats. Big Mom has great respect for Sanji's cooking abilities as well as his pirating exploits as a member of the Straw Hats.
But Sanji flatly turned down this offer. Sanji urged Big Mom to spare his crew after finally agreeing to marry Pudding, and she quickly consented as long as Sanji married her daughter.
Big Mom was immediately captivated by Brook and wants to capture him in order to add him to her collection. When Big Mom overpowered Brook and questioned him about trying to steal the Poneglyph and made fun of him for it, Brook said that he shouldn't underestimate his crew.
Big Mom won over Brook and made fun of him by patting him as the latter felt ashamed of his loss. Big Mom praised Brook's strength and said that for the first time, he had the ability to hurt some of her people who were the strongest.
Big Mom is also Nami's adversary because Nami is a member of the Sanji Retrieval Team. Big Mom was upset when she found out about Nami's bond with her stowaway daughter Lola because she wanted to send an assassin to kill Lola. Nami wouldn't betray Lola, so Big Mom gave her fifth son Opera the task of pressuring Nami into providing information.
During the hunt, Nami managed to distract Zeus with her thunderclouds, harnessed its strength with her Clima-Tact, and directly hit Big Mom with an extraordinarily potent surge of lightning. This further infuriated Big Mom. Later, Nami would use Zeus as her own weapon, which made Big Mom have a personal grudge against her and vowed to get the Homie back from her.
Pedro and Big Mom were enemies since he invaded her territory, but after Pedro tried to persuade her to save him his entire life by having his eye removed, she grew to respect him. She sought to kill him and his new comrades once more when she finally came across them, but this time because of his connection with the Sanji Retrieval Team in the present.
Big Mom managed to force former Warlord Jinbe and his crew to work for her. This was because Big Mom took Fish-Man Island under her protection, even though she normally gave the Sun Pirates free reign. Jinbe wanted to break up relations with the Big Mom Pirates but is concerned about what Big Mom will do to Fish-Man Island.
As soon as he resolved his issue with Big Mom, Jinbe has informed the Straw Hats that he would join them. Additionally, Jinbe convinced Capone Bege to enlist Luffy and his companions in his scheme to depose Big Mom at the Tea Party. When Big Mom noticed Jinbe at the wedding ceremony with the Straw Hats, she became enraged.
Big Mom attempted to shorten Jinbe's life when he made it known that he would be leaving the Big Mom Pirates to join Luffy's group. He reveals that because he had no fear of her and was joining the crew of the future Pirate King before officially leaving her services, her power had no influence on him. Big Mom became even more upset at his defiance and resorted to using force.
In the past, Big Mom hired Caesar Clown to do research and create an effective method of gigantification. Caesar realized that even he couldn't accomplish such a goal, so whenever Big Mom questioned him about it, he would just beg for more money to support his study while actually using it for his own benefit.
Caesar told the Straw Hats to keep him away from her when her group assaulted the Thousand Sunny to get him because he thought she would find out about the exploited money. When she finally caught him, Caesar was able to persuade her that his work had almost been finished before Luffy and Trafalgar Law damaged it.
Capone Bege, after the Summit War of Marineford, married Charlotte Chiffon and had a son with her in order to solidify the alliance. Bege seems to be loyal to Big Mom because he delivered Caesar Clown and Sanji to her as ordered. Because of this loyalty, Big Mom seems to have complete faith in Bege, giving him the title of "Rook" and placing him in charge of the wedding's security.
She treated Morgans with respect because he was one of her guests at her tea party. Given that Morgans thought her treachery of the Vinsmoke Family was funny, the two appeared to get along well. When the Morgans published a piece in which he showed Luffy's accomplishments and claimed that he had defeated her. Big Mom was enraged and vowed to exact revenge on the Morgans.
Kid invaded Totto Land and destroyed two of the Emperor's ships, not caring if she retaliated. Despite this animosity, Kid said he had no desire to pursue Big Mom. At Onigashima, Big Mom and Kid met again. Big Mom was nearly drowned when Kid pushed her off the rooftop of the Skull Dome and into the sea of Wano Country.
Big Mom, still plainly enraged over the act he had played that nearly killed her, especially targeted Kid when she returned to Onigashima with her new friend Hera and yelled out for him to show himself to her. Kid, who had lost interest in Big Mom somewhat, said that she is nothing more than a bother and an old-fashioned pirate.
Law was one of the supernovas that threw Big Mom in the direction of the water. Law and Eustass Kid managed to badly hurt Big Mom before she seemed to take them seriously. She was impressed by the destruction they caused that she began to recognize their threat. She even went so far as to give up some of her own life in order to gather more power so that she could defeat the two.
Linlin respects Kaidou's authority and seems to be aware of Kaidou's true character since she dismissed Luffy's claim that he could take Kaidou out. The fact that Kaidou refers to Big Mom as an "old hag" indicates that he did not appreciate her. Despite this, Big Mom claims that Kaidou would always be indebted to her for giving him his Devil Fruit. She added that she still thinks of him as her younger brother. One of the few that addresses her by her real name is Kaidou.
Mother Carmel was the only one who understood Linlin's life. After her parents abandoned her at Elbaf, Linlin was taken in by Carmel, who provided her with a home and constant forgiveness for all of Linlin's transgressions. Linlin consequently developed a strong attachment to Carmel.
In her Tea Party, Big Mom referred to Mother Carmel as "mother" to everyone. Even as an adult, Linlin would always place her portrait on the table for her tea parties, and if anyone even slightly damaged it, she would spiral into a psychotic rage.
Giant Gerd resided on Elbaf when Linlin was a child. She grew to be a close friend of the future Emperor when Gerd was a young boy. However, when Linlin destroyed a village, Gerd was totally shocked.
Due to their shared love of oshiruko, Linlin, and Tama became good friends when Linlin was suffering from amnesia in Wano. After retrieving her memories, she remained friendly with Tama, as explained by Prometheus as being a result of her "Motherly Mode," which manifests around children under the age of 10.
When she learned from Page One that the town where she received her oshiruko had been destroyed by the Beasts Pirates, her concern for Tama even drove her to attack her. Unfortunately, Tama lost trust in Big Mom after she attempted to brutally murder her own friend and when Tama attempted to flee with Nami and Usopp, Big Mom became determined to kill Tama as well because of her previous experiences with people leaving her. This determination persisted until she resumed her fight with Kid.
King almost killed the Big Mom Pirates when they attempted to enter Wano, but Linlin was ready to overlook that when she requested him to join her crew because he belonged to a race that was still outside of Totto Land. She said that it was a shame and laughed it off when he refused.
Linlin helped Rocks D. Xebec, the crew's captain, while she was a member of the Rocks Pirates. However, she admitted to not having much faith in Kaidou when they first met, calling him a "good-for-nothing" and expressing a lack of respect for her former leader.

How many decades has it been since I felt such pain, I acknowledged all of you! Trafalgar Law..!! Eustass Kid! Straw Hat Luffy as well! All of you definitely came to steal the throne! Try and steal it!!! The Four Emperor's throne!!!
There are two things our Mama hates: bitter sweets, and tea-party no-shows. I have seen what happens to people who refuse her invitation out of ignorance. The sight of them breaking down in bitter regret is ohhh so painful to watch! A tea party invitation from Big Mom is tantamount to an absolute summons that cannot be refused! As they say, even the demons of hell dutifully attend our Mama's tea parties!
