Cocoyasi Village in One Piece

Cocoyasi Village is a town in the Conomi Islands where Nami and her sister Nojiko were raised by Belle-mère. The majority of significant characters from the Arlong Park Arc reside in the village, which is also the location closest to Arlong Park.

It was under a huge threat of being destroyed until the Straw Hat Pirates arrived. After Arlong was defeated, the village rejoiced in celebration.

Mikan Grave

The Mikan Grove is located in Belle-mère’s yard. Belle-mère, who always worked there and occasionally prepared meals (e.g. mikan sauce) using mikans as ingredients, owned it. She and her daughters sold them to make a living because they were very poor.

Nami and Nojiko took care of the garden when Belle-mère passed away. Also, Nami hid 93,000,000 Berries in the grove in order to repurchase Cocoyasi Village from Arlong. Later, Captain Nezumi searched the grove for Nami’s stolen money on Arlong’s instruction. As a reminder of her mother, Nami carried three trees with her when she left.

Chabo serves as an employee for Nojiko, who is currently responsible for the grove.

Belle-mère’s Grave

The final burial location of Belle-mère is situated close to Cocoyasi on a clifftop with ocean views. It was a place where Nami and Nojiko frequently went to pay their respects.

It was initially just a crude wooden cross made of two logs fastened together, but during the time gap it was rebuilt into a decent headstone.

History

The Cocoyasi Village is located on the Conomi Islands. This is the place where Nami and her sister Nojiko were raised by Belle-mère, a former Marine.

When Arlong Pirates infiltrated the village, they ambushed Belle-mère’s place to extort money in exchange for her life. The situation soon got intense and Arlong shot Belle-mère in front of Nami and Nojiko, and went on to take Nami to make her work on creating maps and deluded her with a promise of giving the village back once she brought him 100,000,000 Berries.

However, Arlong betrayed Nami years later when she came back from her travels after collecting sufficient money to purchase back the village from Arlong’s mad rule. Fortunately, Luffy and the other crew members helped take down Arlong, ultimately freeing them of torture and fear of the Arlong Pirates. The citizens rejoiced in celebration with the Straw Hat Pirates before they went to continue their journey.

Geography of Cocoyasi Village

Cocoyasi Village is a tropical place, which is situated by the sea. It has palm trees, tangerine groves and rice fields. It is located east of the now-demolished Arlong Park and west of Gosa Village. Additionally, there is a straightforward wooden ship dock.

In Cocoyasi Village, there is a medical facility run by Nako, as well as at least one bookshop where Nami used to shoplift.
