Dawn Island is in the Goa Kingdom in the East Blue and this is the home of Monkey D. Luffy and Monkey D. Dragon. This is also the place where he started his pirate journey. As Dawn Island is a part of the Goa Kingdom, this also makes it the adopted home of Portgas D. Ace and the home of Sabo with his family.

Shortly after Ace was born, Monkey D. Garp took him to Dawn Island and placed him in Curly Dadan's care. Later on Luffy was born on the island too. This was the island where Luffy met Shanks for the first time and then Garp took him and also placed him under Dadan's care.
Ace was the first one to leave and start on his pirate journey and then a few years later Luffy started out on his pirate journey.
Goa Kingdom stretches over a large area that mostly consists of farmlands. The capital is huge and has a city with green mountains around it. These mountains are home to several bandits too but the population of his place is unknown.
There are many places inside the Goa Kingdom like Foosha Village (where Luffy met Shanks for the first time), Mt Colubo (it is a huge green mountain behind Foosha Village and the home to a lot of bandits), Midway Forest (this is the forest between Gray Terminal and Mt. Colubo), Gray Terminal (this place is treated like a junkyard and has a lot of crime and diseases) etc.
The people who lived on the island are Monkey D. Luffy, Monkey D. Dragon, Portgas D. Ace, Sabo, Makino, Curly Dadan, Woop Slap, Porchemy, King of Goa, Didit, Bluejam, Sterry, Lord of the Coast etc.
There are cows on the outskirts of the village. Mt. Colubo is known to be home to dangerous giant creatures like tigers, alligators, snakes etc. Luffy, Ace and Sabo usually used to go on a hunt for these animals to train themselves to survive out in the wild.
Goa Kingdom is the first to appear in the series. It was introduced when Foosha Village was shown.
Louguetow was the beginning of Roger’s journey, while Dawn island was Luffy’s. This show a relationship between them as ‘Logue’ refers to the ‘prologue’(start of a story) and ‘epilogue’(end of the story). ‘Dawn’ usually means the end of the day and the start of the next day. This shows that both these names refer to the beginning or end of something.
