Before joining Baroque Works, Daz was a notorious West Blue bounty hunter nicknamed as "The Killer" for his deadly skill. Even Zoro, who was on the opposite side of the Red Line, had heard of him because he was one of the most well-known bounty hunters in the whole world.
After joining and working for Baroque Works for a period of time, Daz Bonez became known as "Mr. 1.’" He was asked to gather with the other Officer Agents for the accomplishment of Operation Utopia, the company's ultimate objective. Mr. 1 found a group of suspicious-looking men dancing outside Spiders Cafe in Arabasta, the agreed-upon meeting location. He found out that they were Mr. 2 Bon Kurei's employees after beating and throwing them inside the café.
This resulted in a brief altercation between him and Mr. 2, albeit leaving them barely alive. Miss Doublefinger, Mr. 1's sidekick, intervened before things got out of hand so that they could go to Rainbase to see their mysterious employer, Mr. 0. Mr. 1 and his fellow Officer Agents were led to a chamber that was submerged underwater after being transferred to Rainbase by Banchi.
Miss All Sunday welcomed them and informed them that they were working for Rain Dinners Casino as well as who their employer was, the Warlord of the Sea Crocodile. After a brief revelation, Mr. 1 and his other operatives were made aware of the end plan's objective and the steps required to reach it.
However, just as they were wrapping up the discussion, a fresh issue presented itself to Mr. 1 and his other agents. However, just as they were wrapping up the discussion, a fresh issue presented itself to Mr. 1 and his other agents. They learned through Mr. 3, a fellow agent who had gotten into the conference, that he had failed in his attempt to kill Princess Vivi and her fellow pirates.
Mr. 1 and his colleague's agents were instructed by Crocodile to keep an eye out for Vivi and the pirates in light of this new information and some faces supplied by Mr. 2, who just so happened to have encountered the aforementioned pirates. Their meeting may mean disaster for Operation Utopia because Vivi was a buddy of the rebel commander in Arabasta, Koza. After receiving this last directive, Mr. 1 and his other operatives left to carry out their respective tasks in the last operation.
Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger commandeered a massive armaments ship and slammed it into the port city as the mission in Nanohana got underway. Mr. 1 and his other agents had triggered a chain of events that would incite the rebels to engage in combat with the monarch and his army through the damage the ship had caused and the farce Mr. 2 had perpetrated while posing as Nefertari Cobra, the king of Arabasta.
As Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger were departing, they learned that a little boy named Kappa had figured out Mr. 2's trick's real purpose. They screwed the youngster up so he wouldn't ruin the operation after realizing the possible risk before traveling with Mr. 2 to the capital of Alubarna.
Mr. 1 and his other officers were instructed to wait there for Vivi and her pirate comrades, who they learned would be arriving, after reuniting with the other Officer Agents at the westernmost entrance of the city. They soon witnessed the arrival of the princess and her friends aboard Super Spot-Billed Ducks. Mr. 1 and his team members were shocked to see six cloaked men approaching them, all of whom were donning the same kind of cloak.
Unfortunately, Mr. 1 and his other agents could not capture the gang as it split up and passed them headed to one of the five city gates since the six hooded men were all riding Super Spot-Billed Ducks, the fastest animal in Arabasta. Mr. 1 and his fellow agents dispersed to pursue the hooded people without knowing which of them was Vivi.
Mr. 1 caught up with the two hooded individuals as they passed through the westernmost gate with his buddy. To his and Miss Doublefinger's dismay, Vivi was not one of the two they pursued. They were Zoro and Nami instead. Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger agreed to get rid of Nami first because she was the weakest of the two.
However, Zoro stopped Mr. 1's strike as it was being directed towards her. Mr. 1 quickly engaged the pirate hunter in combat while Miss Doublefinger moved off to engage Nami after realizing the pirate was the same person who had fought the 100 Million agents who worked at Whisky Peak and murdered the previous Mr. 7. Mr. 1 was able to endure all of Zoro's strikes because of his Devil Fruit abilities, which gave him a physique as strong as steel.
In spite of this, Mr. 1's adversary was able to fend off his strikes. The struggle raged on. Each time Mr. 1 attacked Zoro, he did it more viciously. To Mr. 1's amazement, he found that, despite the injuries he had inflicted on him, his opponent would not submit. Mr. 1 made the decision to finally defeat Zoro as the fight reached its climax and his opponent was entirely covered in blood and wounds.
However, at that precise second, his rival succeeded in piercing Mr. 1's metal body. After being completely injured by the slash, Mr. 1 conceded defeat and passed out. After Crocodile was defeated during Operation Utopia, Mr. 1 was discovered and taken into custody by the Marines commanded by Tashigi. He was thereafter imprisoned along with the other Baroque Works operatives who had been detained.
Daz was imprisoned in a Marine facility together with Crocodile and the other detained Officer Agents following their capture. He, Crocodile, and Mr. 4 made a name for themselves as the most powerful male prisoners there. They soon had the most unexpected of guests, Miss Goldenweek and the Mr. 5 crew, as time went on.
Miss Goldenweek and her team broke into the Marine base, freed Daz and the others from their cells, and then set out to free their imprisoned coworkers. Despite being given the option of being let free, Daz and Crocodile chose to willingly remain in their cage.
Daz and Crocodile were hypnotized by Miss Goldenweek using a hypnotic method, which caused their innermost dreams to come true while they were still in the destruction that their fellow agents had created for their escape. Crocodile was irritated by this, but Daz was secretly happy that his childhood fantasy of being a superhero had come true.
They were shortly met by Mr. 2 and Mr. 3, who had both recently been arrested by Captain Hina, as they continued to reject freedom. The four Baroque Works members were dispatched to Impel Down together.
Daz was detained in Impel Down's Level 4 "Blazing Hell" cellblock. An escaped prisoner attempted to push Bonez aside while they were carrying wood for the fire pit; in retaliation, Bonez headbutted the prisoner, sending him flying into the boiling blood pot, much to the chagrin of the guards. He also saw Luffy's attempt to advance to level 5.
When Luffy, Ivankov, Inazuma, Jinbe, and Crocodile were liberated from Level 6 and make their escape, they made the offer to free Daz to give him some support, and he accepted. Later, he joined the main army with Mr. 2 Bon Kurei and Luffy. Magellan was able to pursue them after wiping down Blackbeard and his men with little difficulty since Blackbeard forced the commanders of this main group to stop.
Magellan overpowered Ivankov and Inazuma despite their best efforts, and as soon as Daz and the other rioters joined Buggy's men, Magellan launched an attack against them. They were fortunately spared thanks to Mr. 3 Galdino's wax skills. Daz, Crocodile, Jinbe, Bon Kurei, Buggy, and the other rioters made their way to the main door to grab a ship while Luffy chose to use Galdino's skills to defeat Magellan.
They were expecting the Marine ships to come for them, but they were really going away. Daz, Crocodile, and Buggy traveled on a homemade raft that Jinbe was carrying because it appeared to be too late to obtain a ship.
Using Jinbe's fish-man skills, they were able to board one of the marine ships without difficulty. He and Crocodile were the only ones who could take down every Marine aboard the warship. He then made fun of Buggy for being totally ineffective in the conflict.
The Marines revealed that Buggy was a member of Gol D. Roger's crew once everyone had boarded the ship. If it were true, Daz questioned why he was so frail. He was subsequently spotted plummeting from the skies to Marineford with the other Impel Down fugitives in support of Crocodile and to aid in the Whitebeard War. Later, he might be seen fighting the Whitebeard Pirates with Crocodile. Later in the fight, Daz, acting on Crocodile's orders, assisted Luffy by using his talents to block Dracule Mihawk's attacks.
Although Mihawk appeared to be aware of him, he was quickly defeated because of the Warlord of the Sea's superior strength. Daz and Luffy were both saved from the battle by Crocodile himself. He and Crocodile were spotted on an unidentified island in the Grand Line three weeks after the war.
Daz made a remark about how nuts the Straw Hat captain is after reading a newspaper story on Luffy. Luffy was injured, and injuries take time to heal, according to Daz. Crocodile disagreed with Daz's statement, claiming that he had recovered, and he made the decision to travel to the New World to provide evidence. Then Crocodile asked Daz to accompany him. Daz naturally and without hesitation accepted the invitation.
Daz Bonez travels to Karai Bari Island with Crocodile after the Seven Warlords system is abolished in order to persuade Buggy to repay the money she gave him. In this situation, he assisted Crocodile in destroying the Marine ships that were encircling the island.
Crocodile and Mihawk lash out at Buggy with the other members of the Cross Guild.
Daz is very severe, composed, disciplined, focused, and self-assured. He has grown to believe that he is unbeatable because of his Devil Fruit skills. He never shows weakness or joy and is always serious and quiet. Daz also thinks that friendships are a sign of weakness.
Surprisingly, he does not appear to hold grudges either; on Crocodile's orders, he helps Luffy escape from Impel Down while hardly mentioning that Zoro and Luffy are friends. Mr. 1 was well-known in West Blue for his prior life as an assassin, which indicated that he was an expert at using stealth in order to kill.
He also showed that he lacked regard for the swordsmen's code of conduct by attacking Zoro when the latter was defenseless and helpless. He also showed that he is cruel against anybody who dared challenge him to a duel. He is not a petty guy, though, and shows great commitment to people who treat him with respect.
He is also not clouded by prejudice or preconceived notions. He is absolutely ruthless and savage in battle, attacking Roronoa Zoro while the pirate is hurt. Daz has a reputation for being heartless, yet as a youngster, he secretly wanted to be a superhero. Although he appeared to be quite uncomfortable when Miss Goldenweek brought his fantasy to life, he was actually very happy within.
Daz has long, slim limbs and fingers and is tanned. He has a shaved head and is a tall, extremely muscular man. Probably the most prominent feature about him is the black unibrow that sits directly over his round eyes. He has large lips and a tattoo of the ancient Japanese number "1" on his body.
He was wearing an oriental-looking outfit in Alabasta that had a loose beige pair of trousers held up by a white belt around the waist that had some light brown fur growing out of it, over a black coat with golden borders and white designs on the front. His shoes and calves were partially covered by bandages, and his trousers were tucked inside of them.
He wears striped prison attire in Impel Down, as did the majority of the inmates. He developed a scar to the right of his right eye, perhaps as a result of something that happened before or after he was brought to Impel Down.
He was bare-chested and wearing a shirt wrapped around his waist when he escaped from his cell. He wears a black suit over an open, unpatterned shirt after the Summit War of Marineford, with a loose tie over his neck.
Daz Bonez, formerly known as "The Killer" and a bounty hunter from the West Blue, is a skilled hand-to-hand martial artist and a very lethal warrior who is feared for his skills in assassinating criminals. Even the formidable Marine Smoker said Bonez was a formidable foe and expressed surprise Zoro was able to defeat him. He is powerful enough to overpower several members of the Whitebeard Pirates and their New World allies.
Crocodile has respect for him since he is stronger than the majority of the Baroque Works members, including Crocodile's right-hand lady, Nico Robin. He is strong enough to not be scared of the New World because he travels there with no issues.
The fact that Daz survived his time in the New World with Crocodile and assisted in destroying the Marine ships sent to find Buggy after the Warlord system was destroyed suggests that Daz gained strength over the course of the next two years. He is a highly dangerous man who is exceedingly powerful and has substantial superhuman strength and endurance, even without his Devil Fruit abilities.
Mr. 1 was struck hard in the head by the prisoner while most likely wearing seastone shackles, yet he merely shook the agony off before striking again. Even the Level 4 heat there didn't appear to make much of an impact on him. Daz even managed to deflect a Mihawk slash, but the subsequent blow swiftly killed him.
The Supa Supa no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. This devil fruit's ability to allow people to make powerful swords from any part of their bodies is one of its advantages. Users with this power can also acquire the traits of a steel blade. The user is also resistant to cuts. Without ever touching them, they can cut through anything.
These blades can slice through their rivals and spin swiftly. Swords cannot cut the user, but any strike that can slice through steel with precision can sever the user's body. Daz used his devil fruit abilities for combat, defense, and offense because he was an assassin.
He used to frequently cut his foes. He additionally uses acrobatic kicks and karate chops, which are improved by his Devil Fruit. In order to skate, he may also grow blades from the soles of his feet. Daz doesn't consider himself a swordsman, despite the fact that he utilizes a lot of blades.
Just like his master Crocodile, Daz often sees allies as problems rather than advantages. He works in collaboration with Miss Doublefinger to complete any assignment assigned to them as part of their professional relationship. While Mr. 1 normally gets along with most of the Baroque Works Agents on a professional level, he has a strained relationship with Mr. 2 Bon Kurei.
The two of them would frequently engage in battle with one another since Mr. 2's colorful temperament clashes with his static cold-heartedness, much like their later enemies, Roronoa Zoro and Sanji. They have had a competitive relationship ever since they first met in Spiders Cafe, even throughout Impel Down's breakout.
Although most of their coworkers left jail, Daz stayed behind with his employer and awaited transfer to Impel Down, demonstrating his loyalty and commitment to Crocodile. Later, he joined the disturbance at Impel Down, claiming Crocodile had requested him to.
Even fighting the finest swordsman in the world, Dracule Mihawk, upon Crocodile's orders, he was rewarded for his dedication when Crocodile himself rescued both Daz and Luffy's lives from Mihawk. Mr. 1 accepted Crocodile's invitation to accompany him on his adventure to the New World without hesitation.
