Flavor Island is one of the 34 islands surrounding Totto Land, the main territory of Big Mom, an Emperor of the Sea. Not a lot is known about its history. Essence Town is the only known city located on Flavor Island.

Based on Charlotte Pudding’s rendition of the island, the island's infrastructure is modeled after the giant versions of its name, bottles, in this case.

It is stated that Flavor Island became a part of Big Mom's territory less than 62 years ago. Charlotte Linlin, aka Big Mom, is said to have altered the appearance of the island with her Soru Soru no Mi (Soul-Soul Fruit) and Streusen's Kuku Kuku no Mi (Cook-Cook Fruit) devil fruit powers. Later, Charlotte Saint-Marc, her 38th child and the Minister of Essence, was appointed to govern the Flavor Island.

Flavor Island is one of many islands obstructing the Sanji Retrieval Team's sea passage in the Whole Cake Island Arc using their tartes.

The information regarding the inhabitants of Flavor Island has yet to be made available. Big Mom Pirates are the only known affiliates.
