The island was frequently visited by Dressrosan citizens up to 200 years ago. However, traveling across the bridge was made impossible by the appearance of Fighting Fish. Since that time, no one has been known to cross the bridge and come back. At some point in the past, a tribe of dwarves established the Tontatta Kingdom beneath Green Bit.
Law made the first mention to Green Bit when he informed Smoker that the Straw Hats would be going there next, following their arrival on Dressrosa. While traveling there, Law, Usopp, Robin, and Caesar inquired about Green Bit and learned that the only access to the island is across an iron bridge that is defended by a school of battling fish. The group crossed the bridge to get to Green Bit despite the warning they received.
Robin and Usopp encountered a group of marines, who seemed to be talking to someone not long after they had entered the forest. The marines responded that they protected civilians, which proved they were nice people, to the mysterious figure’s question whether they were allies or enemies.
The mysterious figure then demanded their guns, which the marines refused to surrender. Then the mysterious figure attacked the marines and several of his associates with him, robbing them of their guns and clothing. While seeing this, Robin used one of her abilities to seize one of the mysterious figures even though it was too fast for her to keep up with. She then instructed Usopp to take special care to prevent him from escaping and made the observation that these strange people were definitely dwarves.
Usopp and Robin were attacked by the dwarfs, who used sleeping gas to knock them out. Later, Robin awoke in the dwarves’ underground kingdom of Tontatta. While the dwarves searched her, Leo had sewed her to the ground. Later, once Robin assured the dwarves that she had no malicious intent, they released her. They tried to strip her for not giving them any weapons, but Flapper stopped them by telling them that Robin was good friends with “the hero.”
Law got a Den Den Mushi call from Sanji on the surface at the exchange site, telling that Doflamingo never left the Shichibukai. Doflamingo and Admiral Fujitora were on their way to Law’s location at that moment. They were all engaged in conflict, with each of them standing on a thin pillar when Fujitora sent down a meteor on them, which created a large hole in the Green Bit environment.
Usopp, Robin, and the dwarves joined together in the meanwhile to attempt to combat Doflamingo’s soldiers. They intended to meet up with their allies at the Flower Field. From there, they would travel to the Colosseum, which held the factory where Princess Mansherry and many of the dwarfs had been abducted and made to work.
The dwarves made their way to Dressrosa after settling down and gathering their troops of domesticated animals.
Green Bit is connected to Dressrosa via an iron bridge, and through an underground passage that was revealed later. The bridge has been shut for 200 years because of the Fighting Fish’s presence.
Green Bit is a highly green place with a sizable forest and enormous flora, true to its name. There have been reports of birds, foxes, and boars on the island. There is a village made of plants beneath the forest.
