Kaya in One Piece

Kaya is a young woman who resides in Syrup Village on the Gecko Islands' biggest home. She

is Usopp's close friend and is pursuing a career in medicine.

She was introduced during the Syrup Village Arc. Her parents passed away in an accident and she lives with her caretaker Merry and Kuro.

History

Syrup Village Arc

Kaya is a wealthy young lady who inherited money from her parents. Following their passing, Kaya became unwell, and her carer Klahadore looked after her. Usopp, the town liar, secretly paid Kaya a visit at her house and told her fantastic tales to cheer her up and make her laugh. In response to this, Klahadore ultimately expelled Usopp and informed Kaya that he was a terrible influence. The following day, Jango and Klahadore were talking, which Usopp and Luffy overheard. Klahadore stated that he was actually Captain Kuro and that he intended to kill Kaya and grab her inheritance.

Usopp attempted to alert Kaya of the plan, but she disregarded him and even smacked him for "lying" about it. After being severely injured by Klahadore himself, Merry, one of her servants, later tells Kaya that what she has just heard is genuine. Despite the danger, Kaya flees and approaches Kuro as he and his soldiers engage Luffy, Usopp, Nami, and Zoro. Kuro admits that he had attempted to murder Merry.

After Kuro tells Kaya about how badly he wanted to murder her the entire time, and how soon he was going to do it, Kaya lowers the gun and sobs. Despite everything, Usopp ordered the Usopp Pirates to keep Kaya safe. Kaya flees to the jungle with Ninjin, Tamanegi, and Piiman while Jango pursues them. Jango confronts the kids and makes death threats when they try to sneak up on him. If the children are not kept alive, Kaya says she would kill herself.

Jango would be in major difficulty if she passed away because she has not yet made a will specifying that Kuro receives Kaya's fortune, so he consents to leave the kids alone. When Kaya is compelled to sign the will by Jango, the kids act as if they have been knocked out. Usopp's Pirates ram Jango with a shovel just before he can sever her throat. Usopp and Zoro then show up after Jango pushes them away. For Usopp to hit Jango with his Secret Technique Shooting Star assault and save Kaya's life, Zoro uses his sword to cut off a branch.

She later agrees with the Usopp Pirates not to inform the other villagers about the Kuro event. Usopp claims that Syrup Village's modest size and distant location make it unattractive to most pirates. Usopp thinks the village's peace would be destroyed if they discovered that Klahadore, whom they had trusted for three years, was actually a pirate and had prepared an assault on them. As a token of appreciation for saving her life, Kaya later handed the Straw Hat Pirates the Going Merry. Later, Kaya decided that she must pursue a career in medicine to treat Usopp when he returns hurt.

Lougetown Arc

After Arlong Park was destroyed, Merry immediately sent Kaya a copy of Luffy's first wanted poster. Kaya only spotted the poster's unintentional image of Usopp, which gave her more confidence in her own aspirations, much to his amusement.

Jango’s Dance Paradise

Kaya dedicated herself to her medical education and started working as a medical apprentice. After chasing Jango out of Syrup Village, Ninjin, Piiman, and Tamanegi acted as her unofficial bodyguards around this period.

Enies Lobby Arc

Kaya and the former Usopp Pirates gathered a copy of "Sogeking's" wanted poster after the Enies Lobby incident, and she nearly immediately recognized Usopp behind the mask.

Marineford War Arc

When the media reported that Luffy had survived the Summit War of Marineford, Kaya and the erstwhile Usopp Pirates rejoiced together with the other friends and allies of the Straw Hats.

From the Decks of the World

Kaya is once more seen studying while Merry defends her from a gang of potential suitors. Along with a photo of Sogeking, she is holding a stack of medical literature.

Kaya and the ex-Usopp Pirates were pleased to see Usopp's new wanted poster following the events at Dressrosa.

Uta's childhood song "Where the Wind Blows" was played for Kaya and Merry.

Personality

Kaya was first seen as a wealthy but ill young girl. It was eventually discovered that she had worried herself ill and was depressed. She was also quite sensitive and opposed to violence, as seen by the fact that she was shocked when Usopp attacked Klahadore and the guards and enraged when she believed Usopp was attempting to harm the butler's reputation. Following the Usopp incident, she passed out.

She started crying as Klahadore showed his true colors and brutally ridiculed her memories. As she declined to fire her rifle and was prepared to sacrifice herself to save the children, Kaya demonstrated her compassion for others. She is currently living a happy and healthy life and putting a lot of effort into achieving her goal of becoming a doctor. She is incredibly trusting of people.

Appearance

Kaya is a tall, thin girl with pale blonde hair that reaches her shoulders. She has large, lighter-shaded brown eyes that are broad. Despite her wealth, she wears a basic, well-kept attire, such as a long dress or something more "common" like a skirt and jacket.

Kaya’s abilities, strengths, and fighting style

Kaya is a rich woman, having inherited the riches and estate of her parents. She is presently pursuing her doctoral degree. Kaya's health was fairly fragile, largely because she worried herself ill. Her health became better after she developed her self-confidence. She forced herself to the coast despite her ill condition at the moment to confront Kuro.

Kaya had a regular handgun with her when she faced Kuro, but she was unable to use it when he started to emotionally assault her.

Relationships

Family

Kuro said that Kaya's father cherished his daughter and wanted only the best for her. Kaya could have further relatives, although this was never mentioned in the plot. According to Klahadore, Kaya's estate would pass to her relatives if she didn't make a will leaving her riches to him.

Usopp

Kaya owes her buddy Usopp a debt of gratitude and has come to love him more than ever after he indirectly saved her life via the stories he told her. She accepted Usopp's numerous fantastic tales while knowing he was a liar, but when the tales about Klahadore got serious, she found it difficult to accept some of the dismal truths since she believed the butler to be loyal and devoted to her. She now realizes he merely wants her to feel secure and content, which is why he shared his absurd stories with her while he was in the village after the Kuro incident.

She vowed to keep the Black Cat Pirates' attack a secret from everyone. She remains aware of every news that is published about him in the media and makes the promise that she will nurse him back to health when he returns, no matter what state he is in. Usopp has grown to love Kaya as well, and it was partly because of her that he refused to give up on the Going Merry even though it was already destined to sink shortly, almost destroying his connection with the Straw Hat Pirates.

Additionally, she stays in touch with the ex-Usopp Pirates and talks with them whenever there is an update regarding the Straw Hats, namely Usopp.

Merry

Merry is Kaya's butler who is devoted to her and would even give his life for her; this is how important she is to him. She was startled and surprised to discover him suffering from injuries that Klahadore (Kuro) had left behind. Merry appears to have evolved into the aide she turns to following Kuro's loss. Since Kuro's identity was unknown at the start of the series, Merry traveled a great distance to obtain a present for him, demonstrating his devotion to Kaya, who is grateful and nice to him.

Klahadore/ Kuro

Kaya had always been fond of Klahadore, even dismissing Usopp's claims that he was a pirate as terrible lies until his dishonesty was made clear. She would, however, occasionally disagree with Klahadore when he expressed his disapproval of her connection with the troublemaker in the community, Usopp. On the grounds that he would never be able to face her father if he allowed anything to happen to her, Klahadore refused to allow Kaya to visit Usopp.

She became angry when she realized what Usopp had told her was the truth, but she was unable to act since Kuro had intentionally hurt her feelings. Despite aiming the gun at him, she was unable to squeeze the trigger. She also found it quite disturbing when Kuro did not attempt to refute or express sorrow for his attempt to kill Merry. It was during this interaction that Kuro exposed his genuine disdain and contempt for her.
