Dr. Vegapunk consumed the Nomi Nomi no Mi (Brain-Brain) Devil Fruit at some point in the past, probably during his youth. The fruit’s appearance hasn’t been revealed yet.
The prime ability of this fruit is that it allows the user to expand their brain in order to store vast amounts of knowledge which lets them remember everything that they have ever learned. Since Dr. Vegapunk is already a born genius, the fruit’s ability enhanced his power to learn and store an infinite amount of knowledge in his brain.
Even though the fruit has great usage to store endless information within the user’s brain, this can become a little discomforting as the brain grows awkwardly large with all the incoming information. Besides this, the fruit has standard Devil Fruit flaws.
Dr. Vegapunk has used his ability to memorize a vast amount of knowledge, which, combined with his innate genius mind, has made him the world’s most intelligent individual. His head, on the other hand, grew to the size of a giant at some point. He chose to tackle this problem by removing the majority of his brain and attaching it to his main body via an antenna capable of sending brain signals.
The severed brain evolved into what is today known as the Punk Records. Vegapunk constructed six alter personalities known as satellites, which coordinate with Punk Records on a regular basis, basically sharing the same brain with each other.
