Rainbase in One Piece

Rainbase is located to the northwest of Alabasta, with Yuba to its South and Alubarna and Sandora River to it's east. It's a luxurious city with a lot of casinos and restaurants. There are many stables where the horses and camels can rest.

The Rainbase lake is a very large oasis which resembles a lake that is located in the middle of Rainbase and its the place where Rain Dinners, the biggest Casino is located. Rain Dinners is the Casino that Crocodile used as his secret base in Alabasta and after he was defeated it was closed.

While there was drought in the Alabasta Kingdom, Rainbase grew in prosperity and wasn't affected by the lack of water. This was all planned by Crocodile as he not only owned the city's biggest Casino but also was behind the prolonged dryness of Alabasta. This was due to the use of the forbidden Dance Powder on the Kingdom and generating constant sandstorms with the help of his devil fruit powers.

All Baroque Works agents gather up at Spider's Cafe to receive information about their next assignment regarding taking over the country. That is when they all get to know about Mr. 0's real identity who turns out to be Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and also received instructions regarding Operation Utopia. Mr. 3 interrupted the meeting and told Crocodile about the Straw Hat Pirates who had defeated him back in Little Garden.

Crocodile realized that his plan would not be successful if the Straw Hats intervened so he ordered Miss All Sunday to deploy all Billions stationed at Nanohana and once the Billions recognized their enemy's faces they were on a lookout for them.

The Straw Hats arrived at Rainbase as they failed to meet the Rebel Army in Yuba and thought of confronting Crocodile directly. In Rainbase, Monkey D. Luffy and Usopp stumbled upon Marine Captain Smoker and Tashigi while they were buying water, which then led into a cat and mouse chase around the whole town. The remaining Straw Hats decided to split as Luffy was leading the Marines right to them and planned on meeting directly at Rain Dinner (the main base of Crocodile's operations).

Luffy, Usopp, Nami and Zoro were able to fight off the Marines as well as Baroque Works Millions that were in Rainbase and reached Rain Dinner first. Luffy was followed all the way till Rain Dinner by Smoker who hadn't given up. After the Koala Mercenaries were dispatched, they led Luffy and his crew into the casino's VIP room with Smoker and made the fall through a trapdoor which resulted in them getting locked in a Seastone Cage.

Meanwhile Sanji, Chopper and Vivi stayed behind in Rainbase. Vive was surrounded by a lot of Millions but was rescued in time by Pell who had come from Alubarna to challenge Crocodile. However strong Pell was, he was not a match for Miss All Sunday, who captured Vivi and took her to Crocodile in Rain Dinner. When Vivi arrived at Rain Dinner, she tried to fight Crocodile but all her efforts were in vain due to Crocodile's devil fruit powers.

As Operation Utopia started in the country it turned into a civil war and Crocodile gave Vivi a choice that either she leaves immediately or fight his bananawani pets. He also activated the flood mechanism to fill up the room with water from Rainbase lake. Suddenly a lot of commotion started happening outside Rain Dinner and Crocodile was confronted by a mysterious figure known as Mr. Prince.

Crocodile asked Miss All Sunday room investigate the commotion outside as Chopper (Mr. Prince) took Crocodile further away, Sanji destroyed the bridge that was leading to Rain Dinners and then infiltrated the building and met up with Vivi who had escaped the secret room to find help.

Sanji then went into the secret room and defeated the right bananawani and it was revealed that it was this bananawani that had eaten the key and also had eaten Mr. 3 who survived due to his wax powers. Mr.3 figured out what was going on and got rid of the key which was fake). Mr. 3 was then caught and forced to make the right key out of wax by Sanji and Usopp and now that the other Straw Hats and Smoker were free they could escape the flooded room by swimming and catching up to Crocodile.

Once the Straw Hats were let off by Smoker, they all went to Alubarna but Crocodile intercepted them by holding onto Vivi with his sand powers. Luffy took Vivi's place and challenged Crocodile to a fight outside but lost and got paled by Crocodile's hook after he summoned a sandstorm to hit Yuba. Crocodile then tossed Luffy into a sand pit and then left for Alubarna. However, Luffy survived as he was rescued by Miss All Sunday, who left him in Pell's care and once he recovered, Pell took Luffy to Alubarna.

Rain Dinners closed once Crocodile was defeated and after Vivi's coming of age speech, many Rainbase citizens decide to leave first Yuba and Alubarna to help them rebuild while the others repaired the Sandora River canals.

The people who live in Rainbase are:

Crocodile

He has the Suna Suna devil fruit which gives him the ability to turn himself or control sand. He made a drought happen in Alabasta and framed the King in order to start a rebellion.Crocodile had planned to save the people of Alabasta and act as their so that they name him the new king but that didn't happen as the Straw Hats intervened in their plans.

After the whole Alabasta incident, the World Government saw what Crocodile had done and immediately revoked and he was put into prison.

Nico Robin

Nico Robin is the sixth member to join the Straw Hats crew, she is the archeologist of the crew. She is known as the 'Devil Child' due to the fact that her mother researched the Blank Era. Nico Robin is the member who Luffy didn't invite and she just joined them as her dream is to find the Rio Poneglyph and know the real history of the world, especially the Blank Era.

Ultraking

Ultraking was the assistant manager of Rain Dinners in Rainbase during the Alabasta Arc. He is really a very calm person which can be seen when the Straw Hats arrived at his Casino.

Koala Mercenaries

The Koala Mercenaries are a trio of bodyguards who watch over Rain Dinners.
