Ryunosuke was a "Rising Dragon" developed by Kurozumi Kanjuro using the Fude Fude no Mi. The Straw Hats gave it its name, and Kurozumi Kanjuro, Kin'emon, Trafalgar Law, and the Straw Hat Pirates used it to help them climb Zunesha's leg to get to Zou.

History

Zou Arc

On the Thousand Sunny's deck, Ryunosuke was attracted by Kanjuro and quickly brought to life by the Fude Fude no Mi. In order to transport Kanjuro, Kin'emon, Trafalgar Law, and the Straw Hat Pirates to the island of Zou, the dragon fastened itself to the leg of the enormous elephant Zunesha. The Straw Hats first intended Ryunosuke to descend to rescue Kanjuro and Kin'emon until the mink Bariete suddenly came tumbling down and pushed them off the dragon's back. But when they saw how worn out the dragon was, they decided to let it continue ascending. A considerable amount of time passed as Ryunosuke kept climbing despite its sorrow.

The Straw Hats excitedly encouraged the dragon to complete the climb when Zou eventually came into view, at which point they gave it the name Ryunosuke. After completing the climb, Ryunosuke grinned as the Straw Hats greeted him. The Straw Hat gang was in tears as it then went back to drawing form and lost consciousness. Nico Robin gathered some flowers and scattered them on the canvas. The tiger painting was lying down next to Ryunosuke when Kanjuro, Kin'emon, and Bariete arrived on Torasaburo the following morning.

Personality

Like other paintings brought to life by the Fude Fude no Mi, Ryunosuke was devoted to obeying the orders of its creator. As a result, despite the immense stress on its frail form, it was determined to bring people up to Zunesha. After finishing its voyage, Ryunosuke showed that it had its own personality by smiling with satisfaction at its accomplishment and the Straw Hats' delight.

Appearance

Ryunosuke is a giant and pink eastern dragon. Due to its poor form, it had a few physical features that differentiate it significantly from real eastern dragons, including an indistinct head from the body like a worm, a tail resembling a beaver's, and a pig-like snout. Before it came to life, Kanjuro's allies had assumed the drawing represented a worm, snake, or lizard. It has a series of circular spikes down its back and scales covering its body. Its mission to soar was hindered by its extremely small legs.

Ryunosuke’s abilities, strengths, and fighting style

Ryunosuke was able to carry people and climb Zunesha's skin as it was meant to be done. However, because he had been poorly sketched, Ryunosuke was exceedingly frail and found it difficult to even survive, much less help others climb Zunesha. However, with the Straw Hats' support, Ryunosuke pushed long enough to ascend the elephant to its peak; however, its tiredness led it to immediately revert to its drawing form.

Relationships

Straw Hat Pirates

Law, the samurai, and the Straw Hats needed assistance getting to Zou, and this is why Ryunosuke was created. Ryunosuke dedicated all it had to them, and because they could see how hard it had worked, they grew fond of the dragon and gave it a name. Robin mainly felt an intense connection to Ryunosuke as she thought it was adorable. Ryunosuke was successful in its objective and grinned before dissipating. With the exception of Zoro and Law, who saw Ryunosuke as nothing more than a poor sketch, the Straw Hats were devastated by the demise of Ryunosuke.
