The kingdom’s history hasn’t been revealed yet. Its name was only once mentioned during the Levely arc when its present king, Tacos, attended the Levely at Mary Geoise.

The name of the Shishano Kingdom is derived from the Japanese word 死者の日 (Shisha no Hi) for the Mexican celebration Día de Los Muertos, also known as the Day of the Dead. Kingdom of the Dead is the name of the kingdom in official English.
