Not a lot is known about the geography and location of Sorbet Kingdom because it has yet to make an official appearance in the anime.
According to Jinbe, Bartholomew Kuma was Sorbet Kingdom’s ruler and was known for his tyranny and this made the people of Sorbet Kingdom rebel and overthrow him. This rebellion caused Kuma to be called ‘ a tyrant’ which was carried over to his career as a pirate and a Revolutionary Army member.
Kuma’s daughter Jewelry Bonney claims that this information is wrong as her father was never a tyrant. It can also be seen that Kuma has had a lot of friction with the World Government as he hates the institution and was being targeted by them for constantly defying them. When Kuma was captured by the World Government, he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Dr. Vegapunk took a lot of interest in Kuma and wanted him to become a test subject and in return he would grant Kuma his freedom. According to the agreement that Kuma had made with the World Government, he was allowed to return to being a pirate as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and side by side participating in Vegapunk’s Pacifista Program.
After the Marineford War, Kuma was made to work as a slave for the World Nobles for his past actions as the King of Sorbet Kingdom and a member of the Revolutionary Army. He was shown as an example to people as to what would happen to one if they dare to defy the Government. Kuma’s daughter infiltrated the Levely to rescue her father.
