Speed entered the Paradise Farm to get supplies for herself and the other members of her team who were stationed in Bakura Town. As she approached the newly demolished ruins of Holed'em's house, she heard the fire bell ring and made sure the fire was out. After asking Holed'em what was happening, she handed the Treasure Ship of Provisions to him and watched as her colleague Shinuchi and several of her minions were abruptly killed by Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro.
When Luffy attempted to ride on Holed'em's back after mistaking her for a horse, Speed was astounded by Holed'em's defeat. Speed remained enraged, but Tama gave them some kibi dango made from her body, and she ate it, becoming Tama's slave. Tama then carried Luffy and her out of Bakura Town as they traveled to Okobore Town. Tama consumed some food from the Treasure Ship of Provisions before Speed led the way back to her residence.
When the Emperor found them, Kaidou assaulted both Speed and Tama as they traveled. Tama suffered serious injuries since Speed was unable to shield her. She returned to Okobore Town after that and passed out. Speed explained what had occurred to Luffy when he found her. He then moved her out of harm's path and engaged Kaidou in combat. Tama voiced her desire to help the alliance when she was left behind, and Speed responded by transporting Tama aboard her own ship. Speed expressed her concern while they were traveling to Onigashima when Tama began to feel exhausted from producing so many Kibi Dangos.
Tama put an end to her concern by saying that she would prefer to live in a Wano without Kaidou and Kurozumi Orochi. Speed then decided to carry out her master's wishes with the help of Daifugo and Gazelleman, who had also been persuaded to join Tama's side by the dangos. The three gave Tama's dangos to the other Gifters as they arrived, with Speed explaining it was a medication to heal the hurt SMILE users made by Queen. Later, Speed heard Tama use Bao Huang to broadcast her voice throughout Onigashima. Speed was happy that the scheme had worked when Tama ordered the freshly transformed Gifters to battle Kaidou.
She then intervened to save Tama, Nami, and Usopp, who were now being hunted by the other Beasts Pirates and allowed them to ride on her back as she carried them across the battlefield. In the meantime, Usopp repelled the Beasts Pirates while Speed sought safety with Tama and Nami. Speed noticed that the Beasts Pirates in front of him were being killed by Big Mom's Haoshoku Haki shockwave, which was penetrating the floor they were on. To escape the out-of-control fires, Speed, Tama, and the Straw Hat Pirates rescued Komachiyo and returned to the main level.
Speed was in awe at the Kinemon's sentient legs' capacity for speech and communication when they came across them. Speed and the others transported Komachiyo to the Beasts' Bath where Marco healed him and Hihimaru after parting off with Usopp and Hamlet who proceeded to aid Kin'emon and Kikunojo. Speed yelled to Tama to join her in the refuge as the ceiling began to crumble into pieces. Later, as Kaidou emerged from the Skull Dome to declare Luffy's loss, she and Tama moved outside onto the Live Floor.
Tama indicated that the effects of her dangos on the Beasts Pirates would wear off after a month and that some would choose to stay with her once Kaidou was destroyed and Onigashima landed safely. Speed gave the girl a bear embrace, happier to be with Tama. The Shinuchi was astonished when Tama expressed a want for Speed to remain her mother for all time. Later, as Kozuki Momonosuke was giving his speech, Speed observed Tama crying and clinging to Nami. Speed met up with Tama and the other women at the shogun's castle's Rock Bath a week later. She and Tama attended the Flower Capital Festival that evening and participated in the toast with everyone.
Speed is a responsible lady who might become irritated if she witnesses others having fun. She is also pleased with herself because she dislikes being told what to do. Despite this, she appears upbeat when appreciated and will amusingly grin like a horse when praised or treated kindly. She seemed to like describing her abilities to other people, as seen by her boasting about her broad field of vision.
Due to her Devil Fruit, Speed is a tall woman with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a horse, giving her the appearance of a centaur. Her hair is white on the right side and dark blue on the left. Her fluffy tail is white on the left side and dark blue on the right, with purple eye irises. She also sports light-pink goggles on her head and a light-pink piercing in her left long horse ear.
She wears a half-white, half-light-blue jacket that exposes her cleavage, with dark-blue shoulder pauldrons, a short black feather cape, a light-pink pearl-like necklace wrapped around her neck, three sets of light-blue bead bracelets on her left and right wrists, two sets of silver metal armbands on her left and right forearms, white gloves on each hand, and has a saddle on the back of her horse body that has a variety of accessories on it. She always has a horse's mouth when she grins.
Speed is one of the major authorities in Bakura Town along with Holed'em and Basil Hawkins since she is a Shinuchi in the Beasts Pirates and has power over the crew's lower-ranking members. Ship Speed has a personal ship that she uses to get to Onigashima. With a few Gifters serving as crew, its size is average. Her name is imprinted on the front sail of her ship, which is flying the Beast Pirates flag. The ship's bow features a horse-shaped figurehead that resembles the knight piece from a chess board.
The Horse SMILE grants the user the physical characteristics of a horse. Speed obtained a horse's lower body and ears when she consumed the SMILE. She has practically 360 degrees of vision thanks to this SMILE. She can sprint quickly and carry people on her back due to her lower body being a horse. She can fire many arrows at the adversaries at once and is highly adept with the bow and arrow.
Speed has a bow strapped on her back, although she hasn't been spotted wielding it.
She is capable of Busoshoku Haki in the anime, which she uses to give her arrows an added burst of power.
Speed was assigned to oversee low-ranking Beasts Pirates as a Shinuchi, and while they were capable workers, they did nothing except try her patience. She lost her patience with them since they were playing about instead of putting out a burning structure, which made her furious. She appears to be highly regarded by her subordinates, who frequently compliment her. After being tamed by Tama, Speed turned against the Beasts Pirates because Kaidou came dangerously close to killing her for what he saw as a supposed defection, and because Speed later helped Tama disseminate the Kibi Dango to other Gifters, weakening the crew even more.
Tama was able to totally tame Speed after using her Devil Fruit talents. Speed changed from being harsh to carefree and joyful once Tama became her new master. Tama was allowed to ride Speed and perch on her back as she grew increasingly protective of her. To save Tama, she even went so far as to defy Kaidou, risking her own life in the process. Speed helped Tama during the raid on Onigashima and was very concerned about her health as she grew weak and weary from utilizing her powers excessively.
She had sworn to protect Tama, but she wanted to see her goal realized, even if it meant risking her own safety. Tama wanted Speed to be her mother forever, knowing that her dango's effects would wear off in a month, which startled and affected Speed.
Luffy tried to mount her like an ordinary horse. She would not let Luffy touch her until Tama tamed her and she became obedient. She eventually learned to accept Luffy riding on her back after this. Before confronting Kaidou, Luffy made sure she was safe after discovering her hurt in Okobore Town.
Speed is not only an anime character but has also made an appearance in the form of merchandise and video game characters.
