T Bone was a royal knight before he joined the Marines. He served an unknown country.
T Bone's task was to assist in transporting the CP9 agents to Enies Lobby, the Judicial Centre of the World Government on the Grand Line, where T Bone is typically stationed. Along with 40 of his troops, he was stationed in the Puffing Tom's fifth vehicle. T Bone stood to guard them as a precaution as he and his men heard the Straw Hat Pirates in the car behind them. T Bone summoned the Marine to stand at attention after noticing that one of his subordinates was hurt.
T Bone gave the Marine a piece of his cape after tearing it off. T Bone and his men proceeded to another vehicle to help those knocked down by Sanji after learning from another Marine that the guards of the 6th and 7th cars had been defeated and that the prisoners had fled. T Bone tore more of his cape off while he attended to the 7th vehicle guards' injuries. Before immediately locking and sealing the door of the car T Bone and his men were standing in, Sanji, Franky, and Usopp knocked on the door and greeted the guards. The Captain began pursuing them on the train's roof after making a clean-cut.
T Bone realized that they were in a trap, but he tried in vain to get to the cars ahead, and when the Straw Hats and the cyborg separated their cars from the train, he and his men were cut off from the other passengers. T Bone started sprinting down the tracks by himself, looking for aid and following the train after killing a Sea King who had attacked their vehicle with one strike. He came upon a Sea King in his way, but he split it in half and kept going. After speaking with Roronoa Zoro and getting in touch with the Rocketman, he fought him in a rail fight. Despite his abilities, Yuzume, the Straw Hat Pirates' swordsman, beat him. T Bone was knocked into the water and T Bone's blade was broken by Zoro's attack as the Rocketman raced down the rails.
When Portgas D. Ace's execution became public, T. Bone responded to the Marines' being called in to support Marineford.
Sengoku ordered the Marines to stand down and declared the fight over when the Red Hair Pirates showed up.
T Bone received a promotion to Rear Admiral either during or shortly after the time gap. Admiral Fujitora was entering Mary Geoise when T Bone ran into him. The admiral noted that Mary Geoise is technically not a Marine base even though T Bone has instructions to expel Fujitora from any Marine base. T Bone returned to Sakazuki at New Marineford to notify him of the situation since he didn't know how to react to his response, which angered the Fleet Admiral.
T Bone was alarmed by Sakazuki's response after learning of Douglas Bullet's defeat and the demise of the ongoing position to Laugh Tale.
T Bone received a promotion to Vice Admiral somewhere around the Levely. But he was assassinated in the Pepe Kingdom, allegedly by a common citizen looking to cash in on the bounty the Cross Guild had put on T Bone to support his family. The Marines withhold information about the circumstances behind T Bone's death from the public in order to conceal the Cross Guild's involvement.
T Bone was an extremely honorable and kind man who hated violent behavior of any kind. He liked the men under his charge, but his primary flaw was a tendency to take life too seriously. This led him to sometimes stress over little issues in a dramatic way, which may make the soldiers feel uneasy. Even when it was not necessary, he was known for being far too ready to put himself in harm's way. He seemed to like using dramatic language, and he frequently talked about justice and honor. He was adamant that it was a Marine's responsibility to defend the weak.
He had a very strong will, which was demonstrated when he abandoned his railway car and dashed over the tracks while oblivious to the storm raging all around him. He thought that each criminal he allowed to escape put an innocent person at peril. He thus tried everything in his ability to capture them, even if it meant taking his own life. He declared that he didn't like curved swords, like Zoro's. Even his own swordplay demonstrated a lack of crooked swings, choosing to slash in straight lines or at acute angles.
T Bone was toothless and had long, wavy black hair. He also had a skeleton face and a lengthy neck. He had a pot belly, strong arms, and skinny legs. He wears a golden, sleeveless chain mail armor with an elaborately designed collar, and he donned a helmet with a long, flowing purple plume on top, continuing to reflect his past profession even after becoming a Marine. He wore a shirt with the Marine emblem on it over his cuirass. He was wearing a rope belt around his waist with shoes and light-blue trousers.
He wore a high-collared mantle that read "justice" in the kanji rather than the typical officer's Marine coat. When he appeared in the Marineford Arc, he seemed to have either repaired or acquired a new one after tearing it to bits when traveling on the Puffing Tom to assist his injured companions. He wore traditional Marine headgear and had shorter hair when he was young.
T. Bone had a good reputation within the Marines, which is why he was stationed there permanently, first at Marineford and then at New Marineford, where he directly answered to the upper brass. T Bone was incredibly tough and resilient; despite having tiny, seemingly fragile legs, he was able to run for extended periods on the Sea Train's tracks during a storm. He received a blow powerful enough to break his own sword without causing him any lasting harm. He could slash through metal trains, huge ships, and even enormous Sea Kings with the might of his sword attacks.
T Bone was powerful, and the fact that their fight only lasted a few seconds does not imply that he was weak, Zoro said repeatedly. T Bone was recognized for his extraordinary skill with a sword. Only the most powerful swordsmen, like Roronoa Zoro and Dracule Mihawk, could produce soaring slashes from the force of their sword blows. T Bone was referred to as the "Ship-Cutter" because of his skill with a sword; according to Zambai, T Bone could slice enormous ships like a steak with ease.
T Bone is also able to use Haki because it was said that all vice admirals had the power.
T Bone had a Bamboo sword. It is a beautifully decorated sword with a blade that is completely straight.
T Bone oversaw a large number of Marines as a Vice Admiral of the Marines and before as a Rear Admiral and a Captain. He was shown to cherish the men under his command and to care about their welfare to the point of melodramatically worrying over their little issues, which made them uncomfortable. Despite this, his troops admired him greatly and thought he could overcome any enemy. Instead of rescuing himself or pursuing the Straw Hats, he returned to inform them of Sanji, Franky, and Usopp's trap out of concern for their well-being.
After Zoro defeated him, they took action to help him. He was a well-liked and honorable Marine, so Sengoku and Tsuru were astonished and heartbroken to learn that his death had been brought on by the Cross Guild.
T Bone saw Zoro on the approaching train and immediately recognized him as the Pirate Hunter, yet he chose to engage him to save his subordinates. Zoro acknowledged T Bone's skill as a swordsman, and it appeared that they both gained an appreciation for one another's might throughout their brief battle. Zoro even expressed regret for not being able to stop T Bone from falling into the water and rescue him, but he stated that protecting his comrade came before justice.
