Kurozumi Tama, who is sometimes referred to as O-Tama, is a young woman from Wano Country's Kuri area. She is a Kasa weaver working for Tenguyama Hitetsu and a kunoichi trainee learning under Shinobu. She is the last member of the Kurozumi Family still alive. Four years ago, Tama became friends with Portgas D. Ace because she wanted to join his crew.

Tama’s parents left her when she was just a kid. She began selling hats, but she was unable to make enough money to pay for food. Tenguyama Hitetsu eventually found Tama, and when he bought a hat from her, he gave her a promise that the warriors of the Kozuki Clan would soon come back. Hitetsu then took Tama under his care.
Four years ago, Tama met Portgas D. Ace after he and his crew visited Wano Country. Ace rejected Tama's wish to go out to sea with him since she was too young. Tama waited for him ever since he said he would take her with him if she developed into a kunoichi by the time he returned. Tama went to the market on the day of her ninth birthday to purchase some rice. Some Beasts Pirates scouts and their monkey Hihimaru attacked her. Komachiyo arrived to defend her from Hihimaru, but the scouts took everything she had and were threatened by her speaking of the Kozuki Family, resulting in her capture.
Tama was imprisoned and begging to be released. The scouts went on to meet Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy easily overpowered them, letting Tama escape. After that, Tama properly introduced herself to Luffy before giving Hihimaru some Kibi Dango to tame it. She showed her gratitude by providing food for Luffy and helping him in keeping Sunny in a secure Cave along the coast. After they arrived at her home, she prepared rice treats for him before going to the river to have a drink and satisfy her hunger. When she returned, she saw her master furious at Luffy for eating the rice, but she informed him of what had taken place. After drinking river water that had been contaminated by Kaidou's industries, she got sick. When Hitetsu revealed that Tama had been waiting for Ace, Luffy told them that Ace had passed away which made Tama immediately accuse Luffy of lying about the promise Ace had made to her. Tama collapsed in shock after hearing the news.
After getting some medicine, Tama felt better and unknowingly drank some of Tsuru's homemade oshiruko and then took a nap. Later, Tama was brought to Holed'em, who became intrigued by her when he learned that she had tamed Hihimaru and was going to use her talent. Holed'em pulled on Tama's cheek but was unable to obtain anything. Luffy intervened and they both began to fight. Luffy attacked the lion's head in an instant, freeing Tama. After defeating Holed'em, Luffy took Tama again and rode Speed. With the food they had taken from the Beasts Pirates, they traveled to Okobore Town. Luffy told Tama that she would never be hungry again. After that, Tama parted ways with Luffy and rode Speed back to her house. On their way back, Tama and Speed were both attacked by Kaido. Inuarashi found her and brought her into the woods to receive treatment. Tama was then brought back to her house, where Chopper and a few of the minks cared for her.
Tama questioned Momonosuke about his sister, who he thought was still alive. Tama said that it would be wonderful if Momonosuke could meet her, but he responded that he couldn't do so until the shogun and Kaido had been defeated. Later on, Tama, Chopper, Kiku, and Momonosuke went to Kuri Beach, where they met Big Mom, who was suffering from amnesia. Big Mom was driven to Okobore Town by Tama's crew. Tama insisted on moving Big Mom to Udon, and Chopper reluctantly agreed despite his concerns that Big Mom might regain her memories. Hitetsu disagreed with their mission and begged Tama to go back to Amigasa Village, but Tama insisted on leading the group on their mission. Tama and Big Mom excitedly took oshiruko on the trip. The gang finally reached Udon as night fell. Tama and Momonosuke entered the Prisoner Mines as soon as the emergency gates started to close.
Tama thought of Luffy's promise to her, when she and Momonosuke saw Luffy encouraging the convicts to rise up against the Beasts Pirates while they were hiding. After the jail attack, Tama and Luffy reunited despite the latter's terrible state as a result of getting the Mummy virus. Tama returned to Amigasa Village with Luffy and Chopper after he finished his training in Udon. Tama spoke to Speed before the raid and asked for her help. She traveled to Onigashima for the Fire Festival on Speed's ship with him, Daifugo, Gazelleman, Komachiyo, and Hihimaru. Tama created a lot of dangos along the road for the others to give away to the Beasts Pirates. Tama, Komachiyo, and Hihimaru arrived and were able to save Nami and Usopp from Ulti and Page One. Nami told Tama that Ace was Luffy's brother while they were on Komachiyo and talking about Ace.
Page One leaped onto Komachiyo's back as Tama made her way to the Live Stage, but Usopp's missiles forced Page One to let go. To their surprise, they afterward stumbled upon an angry Big Mom. She turned into "Mother Mode" when Tama called her, and they had a happy conversation. The young girl was thrilled to find that Big Mom had regained her memories. Big Mom became angry when Tama reluctantly told her that the Beast Pirates had destroyed Okobore Town. Tama came closer to the stage as Big Mom attacked Page One and knocked him out. Tama and the others escaped on Komachiyo as Ulti fought Big Mom, but Ulti dove into the komainu. Ulti smacked Tama to get her to stop crying while she started tormenting Komachiyo. Ulti was electrocuted as payback by Big Mom and Nami, who got angry. Usopp and Nami took a wounded Tama toward the Live Stage after Big Mom helped in taking down the Topi Roppo. However, Big Mom took Tama from Usopp's hold, put her out of the way, and got ready to fight the Straw Hats. Big Mom rejected Tama's plea that they were her friends.
When it was announced that Kaidou had defeated Luffy and again when Momonosuke said that Luffy was still alive, Tama cried as they left. Ulti caught up to them as they reached the Live Stage. After eating on Tama's kibi dangos, the Gifters turned their backs on the other Beasts Pirates. Usopp and Nami left with Tama. Queen realized what Tama had done and was about to attack her with his laser when Sanji knocked him out of the way. Tama and the Straw Hats fled, and Speed carried them as Daifugo fought off the Beasts Pirates. Tama was happy to learn from Gazelleman that the Gifters would take care of Komachiyo. Tama and the others stumbled on Kin'emon's lower body after joining Komachiyo. Tama cried as Kaidou declared Luffy's death from the roof, and Nami accused Kaidou of lying. Tama quickly rushed to Nami's side while Marco protected her from Kaidou's fire breath. She and Nami both were in tears when they found Luffy was still alive.
Tama and the others celebrated when Nekomamushi announced Kaidou's defeat. Tama said that the gifters will return to normal after a month. Speed stated her wish to remain Tama's slave, to which Tama agreed. Tama was astonished when Momonosuke stated the residents' freedom. She cried out and leaped into Nami's arms. Tama afterward cried as she heard Momonosuke's remarks. After the incident, Tama started working as Shinobu's assistant. When she developed into a stronger kunoichi, she resolved to join Luffy's crew.
Tama trusts and helps Luffy right away after he convinced her that he wasn't going to hurt her. She is quick in making friends. She often starves herself in order to train her body and make it forget about her hunger because she is a kunoichi in training. She is also quite brave since after getting out of captivity, she assaulted one of the Beasts Pirates and fought them when they tried to steal her belongings. She can be reckless, too, as seen by the fact that she revealed to the Beasts Pirates her devotion to the Kozuki Family when she drank from a contaminated river and got sick as a result, and when she disregarded her master's orders not to display her abilities in front of other people, which attracted Holed'em's attention.
Tama is short and thin. She has black eyes with dark-violet hair and with a yellow comb where the back bun is sectioned off. She is seen wearing a light-green yukata with a plain, yellow flower pattern, and patterned patch-works with a yellow, bow-knotted tsuke obi with brown-soled zōri.
Tama has some previous experience in making rice. She is very skilled at weaving bamboo into kasa. The plan that Tama devised to convince a forgetful Big Mom to invade Udon in order to liberate Luffy from prison showed how smart Tama was for someone her age. Tama also had the brilliant idea of using her Devil Fruit abilities to tame all the Gifters of the Beast Pirates in order to aid the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance in their final battle with the Beast Pirates.
Tama ate the Kibi Kibi no Mi, which is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to make a "dango" from her cheeks. Although they have a fantastic flavor, they cannot control hunger. Any animal that consumes one of these dangos will turn into a tame, obedient slave that will protect Tama at all costs. After one month, the effects wear off, at which time the animal can revert to their former state. Humans are often not tamed by the dangos, only those who have consumed SMILEs.
Tama was seen using a club against a member of the Beasts Pirates and was strong enough to knock him out with it.
When Tama was still quite little, her parents passed away. As Tama got flowers and incense to their grave and promised them that she would make it on her own, they seemed to have a close relationship. The people around Tama are currently unaware of her heritage, despite the fact that her parents were Kurozumi Family members.
Tenguyama Hitetsu loves Tama a lot and even fought against Luffy because he thought Luffy had taken one of the two rice meals that she gets just twice a year. He was also upset with Luffy for telling Tama about Ace's death, which hurt her. She is unaware that Kozuki Sukiyaki is in truth her master.
Tama built a connection with Ace when he came to see Wano and wanted to join his crew, but Ace refused because of her age. He did promise that he would bring her on board after she becomes a kunoichi. Tama broke down when Luffy told her about Ace's death and didn't trust him. Tama said that Luffy reminded her of Ace when he fought against Holed'em.
After her parents passed away, Tama raised Komachiyo from the time he was a pup and he became her only friend. As a result, he is devoted to Tama and guards her.
Despite their initial hatred, Hihimaru softened up to Tama after she gave him some dango and then followed her as they went to Tama's house.
Tama trusted Luffy and thought he would save her after being kidnapped by Gazelleman. She even went so far as to offer him the rice she was supposed to eat. After saving her from Holed'em, Luffy promised to improve her life before leaving for Wano Country. She was first unaware that Luffy is Ace's brother. Upon learning that Kaidou had attacked her, Luffy felt guilty for not taking her home safely himself and launched an attack against Kaidou. Tama was more worried about Luffy's capture than she was about her own injuries. She accompanied the party as they went to Udon to rescue Luffy because she cares so much about him.
She is shown to become familiar with Luffy's crew as a result of her friendship with him. She gets along with Chopper well and learns with him while going to Udon to rescue Luffy.
When Kozuki Momonosuke visited Amigasa Village, Tama became friends with him. Kozuki Momonosuke is the heir of the Kozuki family. The two deepened their relationship when Tama stated her desire to see Momonosuke rise to the position of Shogun of Wano Country, which he eventually did after the defeat of the Beasts Pirates.
Tama had rapidly developed a relationship with the Shinuchi, who had grown devoted to and protective of the girl. Despite being split during Kaidou's attack, Tama later asked Speed for help to reach Onigashima for the raid and give the dangos to Gifters.
Tama, a member of the Kozuki Family and an avid rival of the Beasts Pirates, was taken away by them. Before Luffy stepped in, the Beasts Pirates wanted to either sell her in the Red Light District or turn her in. When he realized Speed had betrayed him, Kaidou nearly killed her. Tama used her power to turn many of the Beast Pirates' Gifters into her subordinates. Her goal was to request their help in helping the Kozuki destroy the corrupt government.
Tama thought of using Big Mom's power to free Luffy from the jail in Udon, and they became friends after Big Mom lost her memory. After going inside the jail, Big Mom offered Tama some of her oshiruko. Big Mom never lost her affection for Tama, even when she was able to recall her memories.
