The episode starts off with the citizens of Dressrosa running for their lives and marines and pirates alike helping others get to safety. On the Palace Plateau's second level, Baby 5 describes how Doflamingo used shrinking the Birdcage as a means of concealing his terrible deeds by annihilating everyone on the island.
Sai then instructs the gladiators of the Corrida Colosseum that are still standing to save the fallen and carry them off the plateau. As Viola, Usopp, and Hack descend the King's Plateau, she observes that the center of the Birdcage is shifting in the direction of Doflamingo, indicating that the entire plateau will be torn to pieces.
When Zoro, Kinemon, and Kanjuro arrive in Dressrosa's streets, Zoro immediately starts racing in the direction of the Birdcage. The two samurai are shocked when Zoro says he will stop the Birdcage when they ask where he is headed.
At the Flower Field, Cavendish is beside injured Law, whose arm is sewed back and somewhat healed by Leo and Mansherry’s efforts. Cavendish then shares his thought with Law that defeating Doflamingo will not be the end of it as it will cause ripples across the world. Law then claims that he is fully aware of it and that is what they are aiming for. For the first time, Luffy unleashes Gear 4 on the palace rooftop.
Luffy keeps bouncing on the ground and refers to this form as Gear 4: Boundman (Bounceman). Doflamingo laughs at Luffy's new form's ridiculousness, particularly the constant bouncing. However, Luffy claims that during his two years of training, he used this form to subdue deadly animals that couldn't be tamed using conventional methods. Doflamingo is still unimpressed, but Luffy starts to compress his fist into his forearm as he flies at the warlord at a rapid rate of speed.
Doflamingo tries to use his own Haki to deflect Luffy's compressed punch (Kong Gun), but the punch sends him flying into the town below.
Viola tells Usopp and Hack in amazement that Luffy has taken a new form and sent Doflamingo flying into the street as the people of Dressrosa ponder what has happened. Two Marines make an attempt to confront the wounded Doflamingo, but the Heavenly Demon easily intimidates them. As Doflamingo regains his balance, he notices that Luffy has compressed his legs and leaped into the air to fly toward him.
Doflamingo tries to attack Luffy, but Luffy easily dogged him and uses his Rhino Schneider to drop-kick him from behind. On the third level of the palace plateau, Bartolomeo screams with excitement at Luffy's new mode, seeing his hero in action as Kyros stands next to him and witnesses everything. Doflamingo is knocked to the King's Plateau after Luffy's last attack, and as he soars into the air in his new form, Doflamingo finds it difficult to understand Luffy's transformation.
As the two meet head-on, Doflamingo attempts to strike Luffy with various string attacks, but Luffy breaks them all. Doflamingo dodges Luffy's long punch assault and reappears behind him.
With an Armament Haki kick, Doflamingo strikes Luffy from behind. Doflamingo is surprised since his kick does not work against Luffy because his body absorbed the blow. He was astounded to see that Luffy's body still had flexibility despite using Haki to bolster his defenses. Luffy's body recoils from Doflamingo's kick and sent him flying back.
Luffy prepares and attempts to punch Doflamingo but he evades it with ease. This is when Luffy reveals another deadly technique of his, known as Python. With this, Luffy can change the direction of his punches. As Doflamingo evaded his attack, Luffy keeps changing the direction of his punches using Python, following Doflamingo like a heat-seeker missile.
Doflamingo uses Overheat to stop Luffy, but his punch smashes it as it reaches Doflamingo and hits him in the face.
