Whitebeard Pirates, Chameleone
Samba Island’s geography is quite similar to the structure of the WaterWorld Stage, which is in Universal Studios Japan. Not much is known about the island, as it is a secondary island.
Samba Island was under the Whitebeard Pirates’ protection until Whitebeard’s death during the Marineford War. After his death, Chameleone took over Samba Island and turned into a tyrant. He made the island citizens live in fear. Rio wanted to challenge Chameleone but was shot down by Kizaru.
When the Straw Hats crew arrived on Samba Island to restock on food supplies, they met Rio who told them about the island’s Samba festival and asked them to save the island from Chameleone. Chameleone tried to trick and defeat the crew by disguising himself as Luffy but his plan failed as Chopper made him sneeze, which returned Chameleone to his original form. He then tried to transform into Ace and fought with Luffy and Marco but when Chopper came back, he turned back to his original form and was defeated. After Chameleone was defeated, the island was freed from his tyrannical rule and Rio was united with her brother.
Rio and Chameleone are citizens of Samba Island. Chameleone used to be a tyrant after Whitebeard’s death.
