Who is Pedro in One Piece

Past

When the Roger Pirates came to Zou, Pedro had asked to come with Roger and Oden but Roger told him to stay on Zou and also told him that he would get his moment to shine one day. Later on, Pedro got to know about Roger’s execution from Wanda. Pedro then became the Captain of the Nox Expedition Party to search for a Poneglyph. Even though he just wanted to be an explorer, the World Government put a bounty on his head irrespectively and renamed the group the Nox Pirates. As his crew had taken in a lot of injuries and had lost morale, Pekoms took in those who could not continue anymore and that left only Pedro and Zepo.

When Pedro and Zepo set sail again, they landed on Totto Land and met Pekoms again. They got to know that Pekoms had joined the Big Mom Pirates. When Pedro was trying to steal the Road Poneglyph, he clashed with Tamago. When he and Zepo were caught they were taken to Big Mom where she killed off Zepo but Pedro was left because of Pekoms pleading to her. In return, Pedro took out his left eye to prove that he needed to go back to Zou to see the New Dawn. Big Mom decided to let him go but also take 50 years of his lifespan. Later on, Pedro was taken out of Totto Land.

When he came back to Zou, Pedro saw Carrot training on using swords under Shshilian. Pedro said that Carrot was not suited for a sword and gave her gauntlets to use. When the Beast Pirates led by Jack invaded Zou to find Raizo, Pedro and the other Guardians fought them. This battle lasted for five days, and on the fifth day, Jack lost his patience and unleashed a poisonous gas that poisoned the entire Mink Tribe and weakened them. Jack left Zou the next day when he got to know that Doflamingo was defeated and captured.

When Sanji’s group came to Zou he realized that they were not with Jack and told them to save Inuarashi and Nekomamushi. After Caesar neutralized the poison gag, Pedro and Tristan stopped Wanda from attacking Nami by saying that she and her group were not the enemy. Later on, the minks were saved when Sanjo’s group tended to their injuries.

Zou Arc

Pedro had met Luffy for the first time on Zou. When the plan to save Sanji was being made, Pedro actively took part in the plan. This was the arc where the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance was formed. After allying, they set off to Totto Land to save Sanji.

Marine Rookie Arc

When the whole team ran out of food and was hungry, Pedro saw Fron Island in the distance and suggested that they should stop there and find food. Even though Pekoms warned them that they should be careful as there is a Marine Base there, they still went. Pedro and Pekoms stayed behind to guard the Thousand Sunny while everyone else was revealed to the island on the Shark Submerge III. After a few hours, everyone returned to the Sunny with a huge stock of food but Pedro and Pekoms ate it in minutes and did not leave anything for anyone which left the others starving on the ship again.

Whole Cake Island Arc

When the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance arrived at Totto Land, everyone went their separate ways. While roaming in Totto Land, Pedro and Brook realize that their every move is being traced as they were infiltrating the city. Pedro created a diversion so that Brook could slip away and took out several soldiers in the Whole Cake Chateau. Pedro then encountered Hiyoko who he defeated. After the ceremony was interrupted, Pedro was face to face with Charlotte Oven, who he also defeated. Later on, when the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance was leaving Totto Land, the Big Mom Pirates started chasing them. While they were trying to escape them, Pedro encountered Perospero and to not let him catch up with the group he lit up the bomb stash in his jacket which caused a massive explosion. Perospero survived the blast but Pedro did not, this fulfilled his sacrifice to the group.

Legacy

To honor Pedro’s sacrifice, Pekoms betrayed the Big Mom Pirates in his attempt to help Luffy escape Cacoa Island after defeating Katakuri. After the Straw Hats escaped Totto Land, Sanji got to know about Pedro’s sacrifice and mourned for him. A grave was erected for Pedro near Amigasa Village in Wano Country.

When Nekomamushi got to know how Pedro died, he was pleased that he had died for a noble cause that allowed the rest of the group to reach Wano. Nekomamushi fought Perospero personally so that he could avenge Pedro and he successfully defeated Perospero in his Sulong form.

Pedro is very loyal to the people he follows and is allied with and is even ready to use violence to help his allies escape from tough situations. As he is a Guardian, he is always ready to sacrifice his life for the greater good. He is also very cautious and does not trust strangers very easily and is always ready to use force against anyone who he feels might be a threat to him. He also likes standing with trees and high places and can also get intense whenever he gets close to people.

Previously, Pedro used to prioritize his survival and safety when he was a Pirate Captain. He gave up his left eye to Big Mom to prove to her that he could return to Zou alive. Pedro thought that his dream would come true with the help of the Straw Hats, so he was okay with dying as soon as his work was done with them. This mindset made him reckless and go to great lengths while fighting against the enemies and lacking regard for his safety. Pedro is also very perceptive and cautious.

Pedro is a large feline mink with spotted fur, white ears with long wavy blonde hair. He gave up his left eye to Big Mom when he was a pirate captain and covered up the scar with his hair. He also has a torn left ear. Pedro wore a dress shirt that had floral frills in the middle, a dark cap with the same frills with a dark-colored hat. He is also seen wearing a green suit with a black shirt and a red ascot with a green fedora.

Pedro is known to be very experienced and knowledgeable, on top of that he also has a strong will as he was able to withstand Big Mom’s attack. He is known to be very sensible in battle and is seen using a lot of battle tactics and weapons to win them. He would even attack his enemy if they had a chance of returning to the battlefield. He can be very deceptive in battles too. As he was the captain of the Guardians, Pedro is really powerful and can even use Electro. He is seen to have a high tolerance to pain and is also able to jump huge heights from a sitting position.

He is also very stealthy and this allows him to sneak around enemy territories with ease. He is also fast and agile in his movements which allows him to run on walls. He uses this ability in conjunction with his extremely skilled swordsmanship to release attacks on his enemies. His sword strikes are so powerful that they can break through shields and armor.

Haki

Pedro can use both Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki.

Weapons

Pedro uses a variety of bladed weapons while he is in battle. We can see him using a large machete, a rapier, etc. He is also seen carrying dynamite-shaped explosives which he kept inside his jacket.

Mink Tribe

Despite being on the verge of death himself, Pedro truly cared about Nekomamushi and Inuarashi and even asked the Straw Hat Pirates to save them. His strength has earned him the admiration of everyone around him. Even tribe members who live outside are seen to have respect for him. Wanda, Shishilian, and Carrot erected a grave memorial for him in Wano Country after hearing about his death. After learning about Pedro's death and the fact that Charlotte Perospero, the person who killed him, was nearby in Onigashima, Nekomamushi became furious and set out to find Perospero to exact revenge.

Pekoms

Since Pedro was the only person who could stop Pekoms' rampage in his Sulong form, the two of them shared a very close relationship and were raised as sworn brothers. As the Nox Pirates, they set sail together. After Pedro and Zepo were defeated in Totto Land, Pekoms eventually quit the group, but not before begging for Pedro's life and showing his concern for Pedro. He was devastated to learn of Pedro's death and was prepared to uphold Pedro's wishes even if it meant defying his crew.

Zepo

Zepo belonged to Pedro's Nox Pirates crew. Zepo was the only crew member that stuck around to help Pedro when morale dropped, hence their connection was strong. Pedro cried when Zepo passed away after giving over his life to Big Mom.

Carrots

Carrot and Pedro got along great. When he first saw her lack of skill with a sword, he was the one who provided her gauntlets. Then, to help her get stronger, he told the words Gol D. Roger had taught him as a young boy. After learning that Carrot had sneaked aboard the Thousand Sunny, he expressed concern for her and requested that they turn around to send her back. However, once Luffy agreed to let her stay, he commented on her strength and developed a proud yet protective attitude towards her.

Straw Hat Pirates

Pedro asked Sanji and his crew to save Inuarashi and Nekomamushi after he realized they were not with Jack when they first came to Zou with Sanji and their group. He then revealed that they were there to help, defending them from an angry and misguided Wanda. A few days later, when Monkey D. Luffy arrived and illegally entered the Whale Forest, Pedro had the Guardians surround him to attack, but Wanda told him to order everyone to go. Later that night, he apologized to Luffy for fighting him earlier and expressed gratitude to them for saving the minks' lives.

World Government

Pedro was an enemy of the World Government as the known former captain of the Nox Pirates. Despite his aim to be simply an explorer, the government still put a bounty on his life of 382,000,000 berries.

Big Mom Pirates

He fought the Big Mom Pirates after he initially arrived in Totto Land as the captain of the Nox Pirates while looking for Poneglyphs. After Zepo attained the "100 years of lifespan" on her roulette and died after losing 30 years, Big Mom was ready to take 70 years of his life as payment. To make up for Tamago's lost eye, Pedro gouged out his left eye. Big Mom was impressed and decreased the punishment to 50 years, allowing Pedro to return to Zou alive.

Tamago

Tamago lost his left eye as a result of a fight with Pedro. Tamago has always regarded Pedro as a formidable enemy despite this. Although Pedro's feelings towards Tamago are unknown, his actions towards him did not show respect as he took enormous pains to try to kill Tamago and he was unwilling to give his life in battle.

Gol D. Roger

When Pedro was a child, Gol D. Roger came to visit Zou. After their meeting, Roger gently rejected the interested young mink's request to travel with Kozuki Oden and the Roger Pirates while also telling him that his time would come. Pedro was surprised to hear from Wanda that Roger had passed away. Later, when Carrot was training, he reiterated Roger's advice to her to build her up despite her lack of swordsmanship skills and gave her her gauntlets in their place.
