Urouge was born on an unidentified sky island and later on, started the Fallen Monk Pirates out in the Blue Sea. Later on, he started to become well-known for his strength as his crew went through the Blue Seas. He, later on, started his journey on the Grand Line.
Urouge and Killer of the Kid Pirates got into a short fight in the Sabaody Archipelago. Before each could cause any harm, the ex-marine-turned-pirate X Drake stopped them both. Later, Urouge was informed by his crew about the visit of a World Noble. He was proud of Roronoa Zoro for getting up and nearly killing one of them.
Urouge did not lose his never-ending smile upon learning about Portgas D. Ace's execution but rather appeared troubled. Urouge was ambushed by a Pacifista while trying to sneak away from Admiral Kizaru. He was pushed into the fight between Basil Hawkins and Kizaru since it appeared that his strength could not stand up to the cyborg. Urouge panicked when he saw the Admiral, but Hawkins reassured him that Urouge would not die. With his increased strength, he was able to strike the Pacifista with heavy strikes that did enough damage to keep it at bay. Once he was defeated, the Pacifista focused on Drake.
Kizaru struck Urouge from behind, kicking him through three structures at the speed of light as he stood up to regain his strength. After this incident, Urouge was seriously injured and drenched in blood. Due to Kizaru being preoccupied with the Straw Hats, he was able to flee from the Admiral.
During the Marineford Arc, Urouge saw the broadcast of Ace’s execution and then he and his crew sailed to Marineford after the Marineford War was over. After that, he went to the New World and they followed their Log Pose to Raijin Island which was spewing lightning on a small boat.
While Luffy and Law defeated Doflamingo, Urouge and his crew were recovering from their injuries and traveled to the ruined sky island to avoid people. Later on, they got to know that Kaido was also on the island and was about to commit suicide. Even though Urouge questioned Kaido’s suicide, he did not interfere as Kaido was serious in his decisions. Urouge just prayed for him.
Urouge is always seen smiling, even when he is near death. The only time his crew has not seen Urouge not smiling is when they approached Raijin Island. He is a very brave man as he is not scared to fight people who are stronger than him. Despite his brave nature, he is not blind to danger. He is also respectful towards people's plight and did not stop Kaido when he tried to commit suicide.
Urouge’s face is similar to a smiling totem mask that is always seen smiling, even when he is unhappy. He also has what appears to be a stitched-up scar just falling short above his left eye. He had a scruffy beard on his chin which extends to the sides of his jaw and converges into his sideburns.
He has a clean-cut hairstyle and black tattoos that go down his shoulders, and wears a robe that is similar to the Divine soldiers under his khaki robes. This includes the white full-bodied garment with severed sleeves that shows off his tattoo. He also wears a pair of gold earrings, black gloves, and a large red bead necklace. He also has a pair of wings that grow from the middle of his back.
Urouge has a really great physique and enormous amounts of strength. He is able to use a heavy mace and despite that, he is deceptively fast with really sharp reflexes. He is a really strong pirate and has managed to survive the dangers of the Grand Line.
Urouge is known to have eaten an unnamed Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. This devil fruit allows him to convert damage that is inflicted on him into physical wicks making his muscles enlarged. When he is using this ability, he is able to be bigger than a Pacifista’s body and is able to damage it with his punches.
Urouge is seen using a large pillar with a hexagonal base which he uses as a makeshift mace. He is seen carrying it on his shoulders.
