History

Past

Wyper and the other Shandia kids had grown up hearing stories from the Shandia Chief about their ancestors. He and the other Shandia youngsters were informed that eight hundred years ago, a sacred manuscript had been sent to their ancestors, the Shandorians. They were also told that it was their duty to retrieve their ancestral home, which had been stolen by the Skypieans.

Wyper climbed the ranks of the Shandia warriors throughout the years, motivated by the need to recover his native country and reduce Noland's pain. Late on, Wyper was contacted by Gan Fall in order to come to a solution between their two races because of conflicts between his people and the Skypieans. When that demand could not be met, Wyper asked for the payment to be made in the form of the skulls of 100 innocent Skypieans and the peace summit had ended with this.

As an act of goodwill, Gan Fall quietly told Wyper that he enjoyed Shandia's pumpkin juice just before the two of them were ready to go their separate ways. Even after Gan Fall's title was taken away from him by Enel, Wyper continued in his people's battle against the Skypieans over the years in order to restore their land.

Skypiea Arc

Wyper was traveling across the White Sea when he came upon the Going Merry. Wyper attacked the Straw Hats without warning, considering this new band of pirates to be an unknown enemy. Wyper's attack was stopped when Gan Fall and Pierre, his pet pigeon, helped the Straw Hats and Wyper had no choice but to retreat. Wyper and the other Shandia soldiers later met in the village to discuss a recent turn of events surrounding Gan Fall.

Wyper ran across the Straw Hats and invaded Upper Yard. Wyper and the others left the Straw Hats and continued their attack. Wyper and the other warriors quickly saw their numbers were greatly reduced as they continued their attack and had to briefly retreat. Wyper told his fellow Shandia soldiers that there would be no need to worship such little mountains of dirt after they defeated Enel and claimed their country.

After recovering from the previous fight, Wyper encouraged his other warriors to fight more violently, even if it meant leaving fallen behind. Wyper and the others entered Upper Yard and entered Shura's Trial of String. Wyper was able to escape the strings and engage Shura while the other warriors were caught in the string clouds created by Shura.

Wyper came across Luffy and when they engaged in intense battles with one another, they both discovered that they were equally powerful. During the conflict, Wyper discovered that Luffy had unexpectedly gone. Wyper continued to look for God since he was afraid of wasting any more of his energy before facing Enel.

Wyper ran into many people on some ruins as he went up the huge beanstalk, to God's Shrine, where Wyper believed Enel was. Wyper decided to move his search somewhere after finding that Enel wasn't at God's Shrine following Gan Fall. Wyper made the decision to fight all of them after noticing that they were all there to block his goal in some way.

The three remaining Shandia Warriors who had joined Wyper at the beginning of the Survival Game joined him in the middle of the battle. Wyper shifted his focus to the two newcomers from three Enforcers with Zoro and Gan Fall. Wyper saw Raki come on the scene to deliver a message from Kamakiri as the battle in the ruins escalated and Ohm unleashed a cloud of iron that encircled the whole area.

Wyper made the decision to shift his focus back to the fight in the cage after seeing Enel punish Raki. Wyper decided to save Aisa first, then turned his attention to Nola. Wyper understood as soon as he set down in the ruins that these were the previous home of his people.

Wyper discovered that all of the chaos in Upper Yard was a part of Enel's Survival Game after he redirected his focus to Enel and that he was now unable to help Aisa. Wyper and others who were with him battled against Enel with all their strength after learning more about his plans to destroy Skypiea.

Enel effortlessly restarted his own heart when Wyper knocked him out. Enel easily restarted his own heart when Wyper knocked him out. Later, Wyper woke up to a horrible sight after things happened while he was asleep. The Upper Yard was being torn apart piece by piece by a lightning storm that Enel was unleashing from God's flying ship.

Wyper was unable to do anything but look at the terrible sight before him and think about the story of Mont Blanc Noland. Wyper asked Robin where the Golden Bell would be as he knew it wasn't among the ruins when he went there. She informed Wyper that the Bell was located far above Giant Jack. Wyper tried to re-climb the beanstalk after realizing this. Unfortunately, he lost the stamina to make it up for the chaos that was going on.

Wyper discovered that Luffy also want to ring the Golden Bell when the situation worsened as a result of Enel using Raigo to destroy Angel Island. Wyper and the others thought Luffy and Nami on Nami's waver planned to use the beanstalk as a ramp to reach Enel after observing that Enel built an even greater Raigo that was enormous enough to destroy all of Skypiea. Wyper discovered that this man was Mont Blanc Cricket and that Luffy was attempting to assist the Noland descendant.

Wyper felt deeply moved by this, and he determined to set aside his biases in order to assist the Straw Hats in taking down Giant Jack. Wyper destroyed the remaining support for the beanstalk from Zoro's attacks. As a result of this, Luffy was able to utilize the beanstalk to climb up to Enel.

Despite all the lightning strikes that God struck at him and his people's house, Wyper stood proudly among the remains of his ancestors as the beanstalk fell and Luffy traveled in the direction of Enel. Wyper encouraged Luffy to defeat Enel. After witnessing Luffy amazingly defeat Enel's Raigo, Wyper encouraged him to ring the bell.

Wyper and every one of Skypiea watched as Luffy and Enel began a battle in the skies, and their prayers were heard when Luffy rammed Enel directly into the Golden Bell. Wyper heard the lovely tune that he had longed to ring for Noland as the bell was rung. When Enel was ultimately defeated, Wyper succumbed to his injuries and passed out.

Later, Wyper awakened to find himself and many others being treated by Conis. After several days of celebration, Wyper and his fellow warriors discovered that Nico Robin's translation of the old document had finally completed their predecessors' duty to protect it.

After doing this task and hearing the Golden Bell rings once again, Wyper and his fellow warriors paid their homage to Kalgara in front of his statue. Wyper and his fellow warriors heard the Golden Bell ring as it delivered the Straw Hats' requests to return.

Personality

Wyper is first seen to be an incredibly aggressive and ridiculous guy, having inherited his ancestor's violent traits. He considers himself to be following his ancestor's concepts and his path. He is not one who will easily trust people and will easily have fight with anyone.

Wyper has intense feelings for his people and his country. Wyper's motivation comes from his love for his people and his duty to Noland. He does have some empathy for others, though. He understood that, despite being different, Luffy's purpose was similar to his own.

Wyper the greatest warrior in the Shandia tribe at the time. He is exceptionally skilled in close-range combat. Wyper possesses superhuman stamina since he can use his Reject Dial three times without expiring, a feat that would usually result in death after only one try.

He was able to survive a blast from an axe dial in the back with just a few injuries. In spite of his wounds, he managed to take many direct hits from Enel himself. Skypieans

Wyper at first had a strong mistrust for both Skypieans and outsiders due to years of conflict between his people and the Skypieans. Instead of working things out with them, he would rather fight. He even viewed the Straw Hats as enemies. Wyper, however, had a different opinion of the pirates after learning that they were trying to assist Mont Blanc Cricket, a Noland descendent, in discovering the location of the Golden City of Shandora.

Wyper's view of outsiders underwent an unexpected turn once Enel's rule ended. He stopped being suspicious of Skypieans and started working with them to improve the future of Upper Yard.
