Cave Zone in One Piece

The Cave Zone is a subterranean region that is made up of caves and caverns. Its rock walls are dark gray with shrubs and small trees growing out of them. It has caves, pools of water, and waterfalls as well as pits of magma. The Cave Zone connects all the other parts of the islands and is the only zone to do so.

When the Straw Hats entered the Cave Zone, they climbed down and explored the deep ends of the caves. Luffy used the orb and turned a large stone into a ball of energy. The ball dropped into the floor and opened a tunnel that was filled with light and platforms. They found the Sword Soldier with Popora and when Franky attacked it, the monster dodged the attack but Popora jumped from behind and headbutted it. The Sword Soldier was crushed under the rubble.

Chopper realized that something was wrong with Popora but the small creature jumped from the ground and walked away from the crew towards the seal. Nami was frustrated and criticized Popora for taking all of the responsibility to protect the island all by himself. The orb then showed everyone memories of Popora protecting the island from various pirates and seal graves and revealed Nami’s memories of the time that she was with the Arlong Pirates. Nami offered to help Popora but he walked away.

When the crew went deeper into the Cave Zone, they came upon flowing magma. Luffy activated the orb and a ball of water seeped out of the rock to cool off the area. The crew broke the cold rock that revealed the next seal. As Luffy stood before it, Popora appeared from behind him and tried to attack him but he knocked him away easily. Luffy then confronted Popora about why he was so set on protecting nothing and then Luffy headbutted him. This is when the orb showed a memory of Luffy fighting Crocodile. The seal made Crocodile’s apparition which the crew defeated and the orb absorbed the seal’s energy and the fourth seal shattered.

Luffy then saw Popora lying on the ground and Robin tried to help him. Luffy asked the orb for an answer but the orb showed them Robin’s memory of her wanting to live. Popora gave in and chose to accept their help. Luffy then ordered his crew to defeat the Evil Guardian and they all left the Cave Zone to return to the camp.

Cave Zone has umbrella frogs, purple poison frogs, doze evil eye butterflies, lantern fireflies, giant devil hand moths, lovely angels, cutie piranhas, guidance monkfish, lava flounder, and burning dragons.
